Good morning, Vagabonds. Next Tuesday my kitchen will be painted. In preparing for this, we emptied the food products and dishes from the cupboards. My plan was to wash the insides of the cupboards once they were emptied as I knew my landlord’s painter would simply paint over the stains and the stains may still show through.

We piled the contents on my dinette table and I scrubbed the stains out. My guest scrubbed the bottom shelf as I could not bend own to the floor. We decided that the everything must stay out so I wouldn’t have to empty the cupboards again on Tuesday.

Later, I had a change of heart and saw that the cupboards looked nice enough that they wouldn’t need to be painted and I didn’t want my table to be used for storage for 5 days. Just the kitchen walls would be painted. By the time we put everything back I saw how empty the cupboards were as we threw so much stuff (I collect empty containers once emptied of food to use to store things) I realized that some of the containers were not meant to be used for storage, so into the recycling closet they went. I am still amazed as to how empty my closet looks.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Nice weather here for a change. The house is opened up for fresh air and it tastes so good!

Not sure what is on the docket for today, but we’ll find something. I’m tired of spending the weekend watching old movies.

@Montana Lady: In reply to your inquiry, my wife is doing much better. She has no problem walking with walker or standing by herself washing and putting on makeup. It’s getting in and out of bed that bothers the most. Her hip doesn’t really hurt her, it’s her groin that gives her the most pain. The P/T says that is normal because of all the muscles that are there and that it will go away in time and to put ice on it 2 or 3 times a day. Also to take her pain meds if it bothers a lot. The therapist was here three times this week and had her doing all kinds of exercises. Said she is doing great. I think my wife is expecting a quick fix. Tomorrow we will be going to our oldest daughter’s house for dinner with another couple. It will be a break in the routine for her. If she gets tired she can lay on the couch and rest.

    Good Morning, Everyone,

Woodworker………….sounds like a very long recuperation for your wife! I didn’t know what all was involved for a hip replacement! I guess knees are a lot easier! Keep your patience…….that will be the greatest gift from you to her!

Just came in from the garden. Picked lots of tomatoes and green beans. After breakfast, I’ll get the Roma tomatoes into the freezer to make sauce with another day. Our younger daughter in law made tomato soup with some of their tomatoes. That would be really really good, too!

Good morning, Vagabonds. Yesterday, I finally made it to Saturday morning services at my havura or synagogue group. At the end of services, when announcements are made, I was warmly welcomed back. But between climbing all the subway steps to get there and back I was so hot and tired (and the temps were only in the 70s) I decided not to watch today’s Pakistan parade. Oh well, it will probably be just like the Indian parade except with a Moslem slant rather than a Hindu one.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

Yep, still no Sunday strip. Oh well.

Decided on meatloaf, home grown mashed potatoes, and home grown green beans for tonight’s dinner. I’ll make enough to feed the whole Vagabond Village.

Dinner’s at 7:00. Come on by!
