Good morning, vagabonds. I did supermarket errnds today in the afternoon. I was unable to find a seat in both buses TO the supermarket. A friend suggested I should be accompanied because of my age and disabilities. I worked with homecare patients when I worked. Not only do I not feel I need someone to accompany me, but there just isn’t anyone free enough to follow me around and I can’t afford (or need) a paid companion.
On a different note: I played Scrabble in Turkish with my Turkish-Azeri friend and lost 253 to 257.(The photo of the board is on my Facebook page) There are at least 2 letters in the Turkish alphabet that never begin a word: one is the G with a sign over it (it has a strange pronunciation, like the Arabic ’ayin) and the other is the o with an umlaut.
Good morning Vagabonds..Nice sunny day this am, however rain by the end of the day that’s suppose to cut the heat..Not much going on. The AVFD is getting their fire house in order, and are getting ready for Labor Day..Have fun..ttfn
My Mountain Man is donating blood platelets tomorrow, so we seem to make a “trip” out of it. So, today, we’re heading out to the Judith River area in north central Montana. This is an area that Charlie Russell lived and painted in the late 1800’s. In order to get there, there is a 50 mile dirt road across a mountain along the Judith River. Should be very pretty. Hope the road is good! :)) I’ll let y’all know tomorrow. :))
Arye, don’t you just love the impractical advice from well-meaning friends? Ask him if he’s willing to either be or pay for a companion for you. That should quiet him down.
I have been visiting the older brother of a CA friend who is recovering from a fractured pelvis. (He’s 79.) He’s doing very well, and will probably go home (here in Henderson) next Monday. In the meantime, for a couple of strangers, we have been getting along pretty well. He mentioned a few days ago that he loves movies, so yesterday I took my laptop with me and we watched “The Magnificent Seven” together. I thought I had seen it before, but I didn’t remember any of it. Great movie.
Sunny, 80’s all quiet her on the Great O, waves 2-4 sothe little motor boat and me will stay on land :-(
Yesterday picked up one of those Gazing globes for the center of my circler flower bed in front of the the summerhome here- looks finished now. We had our annual ice cream social over in the Grove by the lake yesterday @6PM, but I skipped it as I do diner around 8 each day and that would ruin my appetite, as much as I love icecream.
Off for my weekday mile or so walk now, then lunch & readaround 3-4PM
@Jan, my older brother 72 lives in South Carolina &me inGA. (7mons yr) stopped to see him on my way up this yearafter about 10 yrs. and was glad I did, we got caught up and even golf, had a great time. He said it was so great to get together and wrote me when I got to the cottage and askedif I would stop on my my down to GA. in fall to be together,again- he said “the clock is ticking for us”- made sense tome so I’am going to plan on it – don’t fail me now GPS- :-)
