With Caulfield’s assumptions, even if every student gave Mrs Olsen a mug every year since she started teaching, she would be 62 years old (minimum). So, when is she retiring?

    OR

Has she been storing Ms Plainwell’s mugs as well? and is only 35 :)

You all are right. 72. I shouldn’t try to do math at three in the morning.

Nah, you’re all wrong. Teachers unions let you retire with full pay at 62. No one stays around after that.

She looks about as young as water. Who is to blame for that? The kids who tried to butter her up by giving her coffee mugs of course.

Some of those mugs might of been gifts from other members of the facility as well as from parents of the kids she taught.

Brighter1, you obviously are not a retired teacher. Only after 30 years of service can you retire with a full pension. A full pension equals about a little less than1/3. I retired with only 26 years in, so I get 24% less of that…In other words, a teacher with a Master’s degree that made 60 thousand a year, would get a $20,000. But you can collect S.S. on top of that, so I’m not complaining, just setting the record straight….. BTW, Good teachers never want to retire…..Remember they don’t do it just for the money…..That would be a laugh…..
