    I hate the idea that the artist’s intent doesn’t matter. That said, I agree with panel 5. Hey, maybe these so-bad-it’s-good artists actually know what they’re doing. The people involved in the ’60s “Batman” TV series did.

    The Family Circus is about the innocence of children. After all these years, I still enjoy it. Often times, it is very poignant.

    Barney’s either got it not-quite backwards, or is wishing twas so. A Critic wouldn’t be much of One ignoring intent. Nor would an Artist be much of an Artist with no intent.
