At the moment, UC resident tuition and living expenses are averaging 80,000 per year. I sure hope those that have to borrow to finance their education are prepared to come out of college with $320,000 of debt… Looking at Janet Napolitano’s leadership record coupled with the state of California’s economic leadership I’m sure they can make that situation increasingly onerous for all except the upper classes.

I would love to see less “administrative” costs at universities, but a lot of added cost is to secure grants, and even federal funding, but yes, the administrators are overpaid, almost as much as football coaches. On average, the head football coach is paid a higher salary than university Chancellors, even those who oversea and entire SYSTEM of multiple schools, not just one!

If I was going to “frisk” anyone in the educational system in America, it would be the athletic programs that rip off the educational component of budgets, or get huge outside funding that actual education can’t begin to match.

The cartoon is wrong. With Napolitano in charge things will be wide open. No security at al. Just like our borders.
