Actually she might have it backwards. It might be because older women are less likely to give birth is the historical reason that men would chase younger women. However, when the average life expectancy was about 35, menopause was not a common malady.
Most older men aren’t looking for someone to give birth though, they’ve either been there done that or never wanted kids. They chase younger women because their bodies are in better shape than the older women they’ve used up.

Actually , “younger” is a relative term. My wife of 45 years is “younger” than I am by 5 years, but most people consider us over the hill.
