Don’t forget the Supreme Court that legitimized it!

The idiot right still hasn’t a clue. The “less than full time” was a dodge authorized by Reagan/Bush 41 regulations to save those poor downtrodden corporate actually owners of “small business” from having to pay benefits. The 32 hour week is now several decades old to prevent small firms like Wal Mart from having to provide employee benefits. (It IS interesting how a co-op like COSTCO provides so much better salaries and benefits than Wal Mart.) Idiots, pure idiots.

AH, but ideology replaces intelligence any when you’re “right”!! Hmm “dittoBeckheads”?

P.S., it’s also interesting how many “government” jobs have LONG been “part time” or “seasonal” to avoid paying benefits like grade and promotions, retirement, and health insurance- goes back to the ’60’s when I started.

But, folks like Ramirez who constantly complain about government don’t note this. BTW, most firefighters on wildland fires are “less than full time”, and even the contract firefighters “take it in the shorts” by NOT being paid for “standby” time! Ah, but the contracting companies hiring them still charge the agencies as if they were!

Libraries, fire departments, police reserves, lots of “government”, city, county, state, and federal, use “less than full time” to save $$$ and also reduce or avoid benefits. Private corporations have long been doing the same, and eliminating “union power”, that now represents less than 8% of employees, is a big part of the “Reaganomics” picture.
