The GOP doesn’t care about these people. Let the rates double, let employment falter, as long as the tax rates stay low for the rich.

You really need to read both sides of the story instead of the GOP press releases.

The House plan is Stafford loan rates based on the 10-year Treasury interest rate plus 2.5 percent. The Dems want it to be only +0.93%.

The GOP wants to cut the deficit on the backs of college students while they give subsidies to billion dollar companies and tax break to the ultra rich.

Please admit the Senate GOP has used the filibuster to prevent passage of bills the most times in history.

Tuition has raised tremendously since I was in college, a state university. A large part of that rise, especially in state supported schools is the refusal of “taxpayers” to support education. In the case of many schools, administrations have given themselves much larger salary increases than staff. Of course, considering most football coaches, even at state schools, are paid more than chancellors overseeing the entire system, maybe some other questions about “education” are in order?

My senator — Elizabeth Warren — did her damndest to get this dealt with and proposed a rate equivalent to that received by big banks (with considerably less justification). So, no, not ALL Democrats were against this.

Nice job ignoring the facts. The GOP has used the filibuster, in a two year period, more times in history. Let’s see you deny that.

Every student paying for college with student loans these days is screwed. So long as you have this incredible debt hanging over you for years, you can forget about buying a house on credit. Or getting a jo to begin paying off this massive debt, since the GOP in the House is determined to stop the government from investing in job growth. The GOP is going to wonder what the heck happened when students, women, gays, minorities, and the poor vote them out of existence in the upcoming election cycles. Because the GOP is CLUELESS, greedy, and unresponsive to real human needs.
