" Parental units"? Who said that in the 1960’s /70’s? So un-Red!

That probably comes with watching and reading too much science fiction.

I can only think of Robbie Robart but I believe it was later.

“Parental units” dates back to the mid-70s, courtesy of a show called, “Saturday Night Live,” which had skits about alien beings with cone-shaped heads (aka The Coneheads). In one skit, the daughter was on a date with Frank Zappa, who had to meet her “parental units” before going out.

I like sci-fi but it is not all consuming. But at Red’s age I watched and read sci-fi practically to the exclusion of all else.

This comic just has to be my second favorite one in the universe (the first one is “For Better or For Worse).” I “stumbled” upon it one day and have been hooked on it ever since. The relationship between Red and Rover at his age is the epitome of a boy and his dog, and I am enjoying it immensely.
