Ted Rall for July 05, 2013
Transcript:
Cool, calm and collected. He's so drama-free you wonder if he was a heartbeat. (Man: Droned a buncha babies. My bad) Nothing gets to him. Economic Ruin? Whatever. Crazy republicans? Meh. There's just one little thing: as a baby boomer 1%er, he's a condescending ageist. (Barack Obama: I'm not scrambling jets to get some 29-year-old hacker! Other than that he's just as nice as can be.) Other than that, he's just as nice as can be. (Barack Obama: The prez of Bolivia might have that snot-nosed kid on his plane. Tell our French and Spanish dogs to shoot it down!) (Man: Norrrrmal)

Your so called ‘most liberal president’ in your history is a rabid right winger in any sane country.

@jrmermI don’t live in the USA, but I know a right winger for his deeds. The USA foreign policies are as aggresive as that of his predecessor. Nobody outside the USA cares about firearms. Left wingers are divided about abortion everywhere in the world. Military dictatorships in Latin America are as right wingers as you want, and they advocated for total government intervention in people’s lives. Please get out of the mayo jar and take a look at the whole world. And what the puppet governments of PIFS (Portugal, Italy, France, Spain) at the USA government request is just an insult to democracy and intarnational relationships, at the same level of the Iranian occupation of the USA Embassy in Teheran.

This is NOT a right or left wing issue. If it had happened under W or Clinton or H.W. or Reagan the outcome would be the same. This is not about the individual, this is about the system. The same corrupt system that promotes the welfare of corporations above individuals and it’s own inbred, plutocratic policies or accruing and retaining power and money.
Has anyone noticed the lack of investigative journalism into this blatantly unconstitutional program and the huge amount of kill the messenger vilification and “where’s Waldo” coverage on Snowden?

Ted’s got his points, but might I note, if Obama was a chuckling, beer-buddy and “regular” guy, he would probably be criticized for being too light weight. No president can win in a media who’s sole purpose to drag them down. Please, note I didn’t say criticize or analyze; that’s fair game and should be. No, today’s media only seems to be interested in tear down. Rall included.

Tom Brokaw has a new show on the Military Channel. He did a tribute to Ronald Reagan a couple of weeks ago and I just saw it yesterday. You reminded me of it with the discussion of “decline.”

I will ignore half breed comment, however for sake of trying to help you I would recommend against use in debate^Work history means jack squat when it comes to ideas, trying to take a macroeconomic approach to macroeconomic strategy is a poor idea. Now this does not mean there have been any good ideas, modern US politics has widely been devoid of newer ideas since the 60’s as oratory and charismatic skills inevitably outweighed the risk of actually taking positions.
^ Finally, the paranoid tend to decide the government is a singular body, that every person hired, fired and every action they take while employed must be the fault of the government, the truth is that the average government employee has the same relation to the president (Obama in this case) that the average McDonald’s employee has to the CEO (Donald Thompson presently)^Finally neither party wants to appear as what can be perceived as “soft” on terrorism, in much the same way prison inflation occurred you see each party racing to be the toughest (taken from another standpoint draconian). Watching the presidential foreign policy debate it becomes quite obvious that neither party is inclined to do anything but, hence it would appear that a newer party would need to be formed in an effort to actually change things ( a possibility considering about 1/2 american’s don’t vote and you only need over half of them to win election

I stopped reading the tripe when I got to “half breed black man”. It’s not the democrats or republicans that create the hate in this country it’s people like you.

You could replace Obama with any other former President and this cartoon would look pretty much the same. No novelty here!

That would be true. But anyway, TR or FDR were the most liberal presidents in our history. Obama is to the right of Nixon. And George W. Bush.
