You mention that there are “several news stories about planetary temperatures dropping or being flat over the last several years”. I guess you believe that the best science is done in newspaper stories. Have you taken the trouble to look at what scientists have to say on the topic?
I don’t doubt global warming.Sometimes I doubt weather statistics, like that it rained 3.2 inches here in the last 24 hours? More like twice that much.
In the summer of 1977 I recorded several times “unofficial” temperatures, in the shade, of 137 degrees out on the Sonoran desert in Arizona. Had it been official weather stations (which have requirements on where they’re located to be “official”) that would have been “record”.
Yes, there have been “several news stories” talking about “planetary temperatures” going down or stable. Those “several” have been debunked by thousands of research projects proving the overall global temperatures are increasing.
The changes on global climate, not short-term weather, are anthropogenic in origin, and undeniable to any sensible researcher. Which, a study released today says that the reduction of aerosols because of changes in the laws, may actually be part of the heating and weather change in some regions in the northern hemisphere. It IS a complex and complicated picture!!
When an informed person offers an opinion backed up by extensive science and research, and people refuse to believe it based in misinformation, anecdotes, and simple denial, I think a mild commentary on this “fact” is worth noting. dtroutma did NOT “denigrate” anyone. He commented that deniers believe in global cooling.YOU denigrated someone who is clearly better informed than you.Good luck with that.
“Yeah. It’s not really hot at all in the southwest. Just another liberal lie. It’s really quite cool and pleasant just now.”I assume you’re posting from your air-conditioned, secret, secure bunker. Say, “hi” to Cheney for me.

Ah, come on, it’s all that global cooling we’ve seen. Just ask a “denier”.
