It is so sad that Ramirez’s good art work continues to prove his gullibility to the “dittohead” and corporate fraud. Tesla paid back their government R & D loan, Ford has not. Solyndra was was undercut by Chinese “competition” that stole their technology to sell at lower prices(at a loss).

“Green jobs” ARE real, and good idea, and can produce ""green" for corporations and employees and boost economies, and the U.S. needs to keep some at home instead of exporting them.

There is a solar-electric farm in Nevada. Right next to the Hoover Dam. I wonder how much Taxpayer $$$ are in that project and if it can sell electricity cheaper for a profit. Now, the Denver Power Company is doing an interesting thing. It has put solar cells on residential roofs. They generate enough power during the daytime to cover peak usage. They do Not have to build an expansion power plant and the resident gets free electricity during the day.

The free market and basic economics are all you need to know in order to predict the future. Investors will put money into whatever process produces the most energy for the least amount of cost. Oil has always been a winner because it has the greatest amount of stored energy and is cheap to pull out of the ground and refine. The problem with all these green initiatives that the prez champions is they take a whole lot of input to get out a comparatively small amount of energy. To make green energy sources more worthwhile, Mr. Obama has focused on increasing the costs of traditional energy sources like oil while getting taxpayers to subsidize green energy resources like solar. The result is painfully obvious: energy prices for the average American continue to skyrocket, while green energy investment fails over and over again. Mr. Obama’s solution: Quick—-kill the oil pipeline from Canada and block all natural gas operators!

Green Fail: New York Gives Up on Hybrid Buses6/30/13 by Warner Todd Huston…Bloomberg’s NY Metro Transit is giving up on hybrid (green) transportation.About 1,677 out of the fleet’s 5,719 buses are hybrids…No new hybrids in 3 years; 389 buses will retrofit diesel engines because “the hybrid engines are too unreliable and too expensive to repair.”The new diesel engines are “at least as fuel-efficient as the hybrids these days, so the savings in fuel is no longer a chief selling point for new hybrids.”www.breitbart.com and www.nypost.com sources.-Obama and the Greenies are in a losing battle, IMO.They are responsible for wasting $ bigtime, IMO.

@MortyTyrant….you are so biased.Conservatives do not “stand in the way of progress”…we only oppose “new” unworkable so-called “progress”.When it proves to be workable and affordable, bring it on!I love my tech-in-the-home…born in the early 1930s, radio and telephone was in its youth…I welcomed every new thing that was good…TV…choice in phones and phone service…satellite services when available to rural areas…But Green technology is far from being workable in mass quantities. Electric cars, etc., that require charging with fossil-fuel-electricity, is not economically affordable, unless you are rich like Al Gore and the other profiteers benefitting from government funding and investor funds that so far are not that profitable if 100% “green”….

Zit: Ford got an electric vehicle R & D loan at about the same time as Tesla. No, Ford didn’t get the “bailout” GM and Chrysler did, so it wasn’t the same funding source.

I keep thinking of NASA and SETI trying to seek out intelligent life forms elsewhere in the universe. They keep trying, but it’s like trying to find intelligence in the political right wing in America today. When so many “deniers” have trouble with the complexities of a light switch, simple on/off, let alone a dimmer, it IS difficult to get them to understand any complex scientific data, like gravity, that the sun does NOT revolve around the Earth, or global climate change and the impacts Man has on that.

“Why are Rednecks so determined to miss out on the wave of the future?”.Ask some of your neighbors that question and then get back to us.
