A Hi, Dry Saturday afternoon..If it was a dog race, Andy’s dog would come in first with a rider...I think Linda meant to say:
Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey A kiddley divey too, wouldn’t you?..Wrong or right side of the road; I hope I don’t see you coming head on !..Nice Pogo, Bugger. Thanx !..Hay, Number Three !I hope your “fever” goes down.-Called Auntie today and had a good talk. She is still under the weather. She thinks, and told the lady nurse or whatever it was, that she thinks they took too much fluid out at her last dialysis session. She started feeling poorly afterward. Her feet hurt and it burns when she pees. They are doing a urine sample analysis to see if there is a yeast infection. She has some meds that are supposed to help in the meantime. I am going to buy a couple of solar powered LED lawn lights to take when I go to see them. The ones I am looking at are hummingbirds. The light is in the bird’s belly and changes color; the belly glows and looks real neat. They soak up sun to charge the battery and come on at night. She has some other solar type LED doo dads out by the patio.-I am sure Mikey will be happy for you to “adopt” the Kitties for your “postage stamp”. Someone at Dick Tracy has dubbed the avatars as postage stamps, which I think is appropriate given their size. ..I am glad you like the quality of the pics. Wait til I get a REAL camera !!! A few days ago I had set a link to my car repairs; the radiator and the fuel pump access panel. I don’t know if you saw them or just don’t really care about car stuff all that much, but they are also accessible once you get on my page.-Joe put the trim on the bathroom window today. Looks good, and now I will have to paint it……. tomorrow. The caulk has to set up.-Hope your Sunday is a sunny one and that the pollen count gives you a break.
Mikey j is right that today’s strip is much better than usual, but I think Sandfan is also right: Andy would never let “the enemy” get a peek at his winnings. (“The enemy” is people he owes money to, which, of course, is most people……..probably including Chalkie!)

I wonder how that dog got out if “security” was so tight ? It is a hard thing to face someone you don’t know to give that kind of news knowing that you could get your head blown off figuratively and even literally. But then, some people are just trolls no matter what. .Years ago one of our two cats was outside on a winter type spring morning.. The neighbor’s car was in the garage, [garage] door open, with the engine warming up. By the time he got in the car and went to back out the cat had got in the line of fire or was already behind unobserved……… “the skunk got squashed and there you are!” The man and his wife were friends of ours. He promptly came over to give us the news after doing disposal of the body. We appreciated the honesty and knowing their character, there was no ill intent on his part, or ours. .Animals and kids, at the least, have an uncanny ability to dart out from roadside and so whenever driving on neighborhood streets, especially along parked cars, one has to be most observant and not be “going to beat the band”. I might have said this when the talk was fresh, if I were able….We will know more by the time this “hits the papers”, so I can’t yet offer congrats on recovery or condolences…….(Did the italic symbols in case you print the top part too.) .Gweedo (the ghost) Murray

Howdy, fellow Capper, been out of pocket for a while. Internet is a luxury in the Middle East.
Glad to have you anytime you can make it ! Sporadic net would drive me nuts !I do have sporadic Clubb Capp access and it does drive me nuts per the following………..Dry, I would have chimed in on the “accident” when the talk was fresh, if I could. You guys have my sympathy. Even though we’re not up close and personal, there are a couple of rabbits in the yard here that I can get fairly close to before they decide “no closer before I move over there”. In other words, Chris was a little callous with that remark. I stop for squirrels and prairie dogs. In fact, I will honk the “dogs” pretty good to try to get them to associate loud noises… to keep them off the road when “big stuff” is coming at them...I know that Mikey drives on the “right” side of the road, same as me, and I’m never wrong !
I was really saddened by your story about poor little Brewster. I am so sorry to hear that. I have heard too many stories about idiot drivers not bothering to slam on their brakes and just STOP for a moment. In the UK it’s mostly drink driving and texting/talking on mobile phones.
Brewster will be in my prayers every night. As will Christopher. I’m glad that you comforted him which is what he’ll need right now until his dog is OK.
Once again, I’m so sorry and I hope it helps to know that us Cappers are praying for you all.
I’m sorry to hear Eileen is feeling poorly but I think she would have felt a bit better having you to talk to. Are the meds helping her so far? Hope so. I’m on two medications as you know. One is temporary and my ‘other’ one is sort of permanent. I have 6 more to take before I go on the break.-The hummingbird lawn lights sound pretty adorable. They’ll make the garden look pretty when it’s dark.-I actually did see those car and radiator pictures which you linked. I don’t miss anything. I just forgot to mention them in my reply to you which I’ll do now. Those pictures were really excellent too. I love cars actually. That’s why I keep having recurring dreams where I’m driving them. I liked the way you had the camera angles on the radiator ones and also on the attic vent ones.-Thank you again for your nice comment and I hope Eileen feels a lot better very quickly. -You have a lovely Sunday too.
Excellent Pogo today, Buggerlugs, and so relevant even certain professors might approve! I know Walt Kelly was flourishing in an age of the comics being printed big enough to read, but it always amazes me just how packed his Sunday strips were. Packed but not crowded. All those characters behaving IN character (modern cartoonists please take note!)
Just so you know, no word on Brewster yet. They both left early in the morning for work. Christopher works 2 jobs now that school is over for the summer, and his mother works long hours as a caregiver. My neighbor and I surmise that the hospital kept Brewster overnight, and he probably had to have surgery on that leg. I will let you know, though.
Number Six, John Pike, Chalkie, and all those interested, He spent the day at the Animal Hospital, he’s eating and drinking water, alert. He has a broken leg, fractured hip, and POSSIBLE nerve damage in his front shoulder. They couldn’t tell from the X-rays, the front shoulder is swollen, so it could just be that. When the swelling goes down, they will be able to tell more, his backbone and all other vital areas are fine. No vet around here does bone surgery, so they will have to drive to Pittsburgh tmr. the only place in the state that does bone surgery. She is going to call her vet tmr. to be sure this is correct. But they told her at the Animal Hospital that as small as he is, 8 pounds, and under a year old, he should make a FULL recovery. They will have to take time from work, but she said, “Looks like we will be making a trip to Pittsburgh”.
They still don’t know how he got out of the house. My hubby was working in the backyard all day yesterday, and me in the front yard. We never saw him.
Gweedo Since I’m here, rather than fire off an e, I will post here and HOPE YOU SEE IT!
Christopher is a good kid, and very caring. I think what he was trying to say was that if you hit a wild animal along the highway, like a squirrel or rabbit, they are creatures of the wild, and you can’t do much about that. But when you hit a dog you have hit a member of someone’s family, a family pet, and you should have the DECENCY to stop. Same way with cats. My cats are indoors. Never would I let them roam around the neighborhood. And the same with my dogs, leash lines.
Number Three, You know, you can be so careful with your pets, our now deceased Charlie Girl, would sometimes bolt out the door when someone came in, and we would spend about an hour trying to get her back. She was a Lab/Beagle mix. She grew out of that when she got to be about 2 years old, but my, we did our share of running around the neighborhood after her. She was SO BAD, and yet so sweet! She thought it was a game, chasing after her. One Easter, she got on our table and ate a good bit of the Easter chocolates. Didn’t hurt her one bit. She also loved hot peppers, with no ill effects. LOL!

Those winnings should just about cover a small potion of the IOUs. The barkeep plays the odds too.
Sandfan almost 11 years ago
Andy never has a problem deciding what to do with his money…
[This is a bar where Andy has no IOU’s]
While I agree with Mikeyj that today’s strip is pretty good, the basic premise is all wrong; Andy never makes the rookie mistake of flashing his roll…

The last place you go when you come into money is places you owe. Hasn’t 60 or so years of freeloading not taught Andy anything?

100:1 that’s pretty high odds; winning had to be an unexpected surprise. That’s not always the case:
