    Good morning, Vagabonds.

We were supposed to get rain this weekend again, and it just started about 1/2 hour ago (10 PM PDT).

Good morning, Vagabonds. The annual Domican Republic parade was scheduled to march down the Boulevard where I live. It’s so noisy the music sounds like it’s coming from my bedroom and I usually make plans to go somewhere else in the City. However, this time it wasn’t so bad and I watched the people in colorful costumes in the parade. Afterwards, my guest and me went for a pizza a block from my building. To my surprise the pizza owners were from Afghanistan and we spoke about my times in Afghanistan in the 70s.

On the way back I fell on the wet floor of my building lobby. Luckily, when I realized I was gonna fall I let myself fall to the floor and there were no.broken bones. My house guest and a neighbor picked me up.

Good morning Vagabonds. My wife stood twice for a very brief time yesterday and today we have a meeting with her case manager about where she is going for her rehab. I don’t think she will leaving the hospital today as they are still trying to get her blood pressure and heart rate under better control. They have been screwed up from all of the different meds they have been giving her. Sat. night they discovered that her blood was low so they gave her a transfusion of a unit of blood. On the plus side, she felt pretty good yesterday. The nurses are giving her excellent care, couldn’t be better. I will keep you informed on her progress.

Arye, you are going to be sore for a few days, but I am so glad you didn’t break anything. Falling correctly is not something that is taught these days.

Woodworker, great news about your wife. I hope (ask dkram says) she is sprung soon.

Dkram, also great news about your mom.

All three of you are in my prayers.

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

Gosh, I’ll just offer up the whole village in prayer today! Mainly in Thanksgiving. We truly are blest.

Jan, you have created a monster!!!! We have waited patiently to watch all of Downton Abbey from the beginning. Jack ordered the series, but, when it finally came, it was the UK version, and wouldn’t play on American equipment! So, we waited disc by disc to get it off of Blockbuster/Dish. Some times the discs were scratched, and had to be returned and re-ordered. It is a VERY popular show, and we have been on the waiting list a LONG time. We just finished with the second to last disc of season 3. Hopefully next week we can finish the season. What a terrific show!!!! I cannot remember enjoying something as much as Downton Abbey. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

@MONTANA LADY: I bought a multi-system DVD player – it was reasonably priced. If there’s a micro chip in it that won’t allow you to copy it to another DVD, you can copy it to VHS if you still have a VHS recorder.

I’ve already had 3 hip replacements (the same hip) over a 33 -year period and now have a metal rod in my femur – having the same femur replaced is NOT domething I would look forward to. Luckily, I don’t feel sore.

A friend visited me yesterday morning to practice Turkish with my house guest and told me he was glad I’m nbot (at my age) living alone.

@dkram: Some of the best medicine is when you walk through your own door.My wife is feeling better today. They got her up today and had her sitting in a chair for about one hour she is supposed to be sitting when she eats her meals. It was hard for her to do but she came through ok. When she will go to rehab we do not know as they will have to evaluate her. @Arye: Glad you did not break any thing. At our age it takes us too long to get over things like that.
