Years ago, the Boy Scouts made their own charcoal starters, and Scout camp was the only place we ever saw them (except my Dad’s house – he made his own for home use.) I was astonished when I saw them in the stores for the first time. I hope the guy who invented them originally for the scouts got the credit for them.
You could easily substitute my husband for Gray in this strip.

That is a charcoal starter. You put newspaper in the bottom and charcoal on top. It works and no starter fluid smell.

yep and it actually get the charcoal hot faster than spreading it out in the grill.
