In that case, then nobody in ’Three Rocks" would have the authority… but as an agreed “watcher over” of him (in effect, an unofficial gurardian, given his situation), she and Phil both seem to reserve the right…..

I am from a major city, but it was one where it was accepted for anyone who was a trusted neighbor or family friend to watch over us…. they may not have been able to send us to our rooms or such, but certain other appropriate disciplinary measures could be taken, such as having to apologize to the owner of the neighborhood “corner store” in front of everyone as a lesson and deterrent for stealing from there, if a trusted neighbor or friend caught us…, and if we didn’t right then, it would surely be worse if it wasn’t rectified by the time it got back to our parents…. so sometimes, it is a good thing! lol!

Who gets the new puppy? From the way puppy dog looked at Fritzi last week, I’d say the decision has already been made. May be a little tension in Fritzi’s house for a while.

You are correct that it is the parents’ job….. however, not everyone gets to enjoy such in the world we live in, today… and certainly there are times when situations arise that one or both parents must travel to perform their jobs, or when neither parent is there anymore, unfortunately by choice (neglect/abandonment) or force (e.g. death or legal issues)….. ==And PC has nothing to do with it, sometimes…. PC would be more along the lines of trying to take away the authority, with parents who are still both there and caring….
