That fence would be as effective as the House.

But Senator Jeff Sessions and others oppose Rubio and the gang of 8, so I am not sure the Senate bill will pass.

I have missed some of my favorite news shows because I unplug my electronics when the thunderstorms come in.

Very interesting viewpoint, clearly thought out, and thoroughly understandable. Thank you. The question becomes: Are Americans willing to pay a little more to ensure that their groceries, etc., are “American”?

If Wal-Mart is any indication, the answer is a decided “no”. People will spend an additional dollar in gas to get to Wal-Mart to save 30 cents. Until we are willing to “buy American”, and are willing to pay just a little more to do it, I’m worried we might be stuck with what we have.

“Either way they need to become obsolete and irrelevent or replaced with sane new”

I think I understood all that! And I agree, on the whole.

Though I’m not entirely convinced that the Dems actually have the will to make any truly positive changes. They haven’t really shown willing, when it has come to the point. I really hate the wait-and-see thing. We’re past the point where we can affort the luxury.

“It has frequently been said that we cannot remove 11 million illegal aliens from the US. I wonder how many we could remove if we tried.”

    I think you are right.

I think that the false dichotomy of ‘either/or’ drives too many issues in politics these days. The choices are rarely realistic, much less the only ones.

What it seems to boil down to is that our politicians, on both sides of the aisle, don’t want any part of eliminating illegal labor. If they had the will, the means is there.

    Well said!

I don’t think the penalties for hiring illegals need to be draconian, they only need to be enforced. -If businesses hire illegals, a warning for a first offence would probably suffice, provided:-The second offense gets the hiring manager, the head of HR, and the CEO one free 24 hr stay in their local jail. Next offense gets 2 days, and the next 4 days, and so on.-If the hiring authority is the owner of the business, the owner is the only one to be jailed.-If there were certainty of accountability, it’s unlikely there would be much in the way of repeat offenders.-Republicans are really, really big on accountability, no? You’d think they’d be falling all over themselves making it happen.

I think if there was relative certainty about the jail time, albeit short, it would be just as effective as a threat of huge penalties. Besides, any monetary penalties would be paid out of shareholder’s funds. You know, corporations are people, my friend.

People throw around the word “citizen” with out even knowing what it meas. To quote the US Supreme Court in LURIA v. U S, 231 U.S. 9 (1913):

“Citizenship is membership in a political society, and implies a duty of allegiance on the part of the member and a duty of protection on the part of the society. These are reciprocal obligations, one being a compensation for the other.”

Now get on your favorite search engine and look up the term “ police have no duty to protect”. Read the cases cited and ask your self how can anyone be a citizen if the government has no duty to protect any one? I also suggest that you get a copy of the book Dail 911 & Die by Garn Turner.

Start thinking for yourselves and stop listening to all the garbage the media has to offer.
