Wow, I lived in the Glacial Hills area of northeastern Kansas. A large glacier came through and deposited those hills.

Where is that glacier today? Climates change, always have and always will.

Interesting cartoon today, considering the party of tourists who were rescued recently in Nunavut, when a 50X25 km chunk of ice broke away from the mainland. See http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/06/26/seven-tourists-guides-trapped-on-baffin-island-ice-floe/

The wording was changed because people thought that since there was record cold temps. during the winter, the world couldn’t possibly be warming . . . not understanding that climate change creates freakish storms and extreme seasons. I thought most people believed in climate change . . . now we’re debating as to whether or not it was caused by humans. If you’re so inclined: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-23154073

I’m hoping global warming is real, maybe eliminate NYC and other undesirables. Sadly, it’s just a hoax, to wrest money from leftists. http://www.adn.com/2013/05/18/2907470/late-may-snow-sets-multiple-records.html

I know, Dave, it’s tough on you deniers when new scientific procedures and information allow scientists to update and refine their findings.Yes, there’s no Global Climate Change, just ask the people who have been in the path of ever larger hurricanes and tornados, and those in places experiencing too much rain or not enough on an epic scale. It may be decades before your ignorance becomes clear to you, but it’s clear to us already. If we don’t act quickly and decidedly, we are all screwed. And that includes you, pal, believe in it or not.

It’s like the fox, the goose, and the hound. Easy!

Three humans kill all three, the two seal, and the walrus. and skin them all properly and neatly. They take enough meat for themselves for their trek home, and leave the rest for the two polar bear (who don’t want the fur, anyway), and the seagulls can steal from the edges what they can get without being eaten by the polar bears. (The humans wouldn’t want to eat seagulls, any way!)

That way polar bears and humans all get to live and get fed.

    I like that scenario….

You can either accept or deny that man has the ability to affect “weather” or “climate change” on a global scale. What you can’t deny is that stripping the prairies in the midwest of their natural groundcover combined with a naturally recurring period of drought contributed to the infamous “dustbowl”, that overfishing has depleted vast stocks of foodfish, or that clearing of the rainforests has affected those areas very negatively. No, maybe “man” can’t seriously affect the “weather” or “climate” on a global scale. but we’re sure as heck nitpicking our way out of the ecosystem.

If people like you have their way and we don’t make some major changes, the world may not be fit for your kids or your grandkids to inhabit comfortably. Perhaps you don’t care what happens to future generations—maybe you’re one of those “who cares what happens after I die?” kinds of people—but I’d like to see the world continue long into the future, and the blind eye people like you turn towards the obvious is both sad and horrifying. And, fyi, I do lead a fairly green lifestyle; I do very little driving and hope to convert to solar energy in the next couple of years.
