My wife had her friend make her wedding gown, and it turned out great. She couldn’t be at the wedding to take credit, because she had a newborn baby to take care of.

Gunther’s just not used to so much praise. But it’ll grow on him. And since he seems to have a knack for tailoring, I see a future with Brooks Brothers. Perhaps, like TJ, he’ll create his own tailoring business.

This strip is wrapping up I am becoming more convinced. Hope I am wrong. Gunther has a real talent in design, and his girl Rosa is going to an East coast school, where I bet he follows, and becomes a millionaire, and she becomes a college professor or judge or something like that. But I think we will see him and her leaving soon, Brad & Tony getting married, and adopting Shannon, TJ being best man, and getting his business, Delta and Bernice going off to college somewhere, although I think Greg has some tricks up his sleeve on them, Tiffany, who is a sad case, trying to make it in picture frames, and and…. Well there could be a lot of theories, but the characters are clearly moving on a bit faster than in the past I think.

Custom made wedding dress rock. They fit perfectly – both the bride and the wedding style, and are soooo much cheaper. I had a custom dress that I designed with the seamstress. The whole process cost just over $400. No other bride will ever have exactly what I did, and no credit cards were maxed for it!

“Sound like Luann brothers trying to get a cheap wedding dress”^Uh… have you seen the kind of outfits that Gunther has put together for many years (our time)? ==Not only would Brad asking if he could make a wedding gown be a sensible move, but what you are referring to as “cheap” would actually be a married couple’s “blessing in disguise”… the quality of Gunth’s work is such that the dress would be unique (kind of similar to what a poster above said) and would be much more affordable than a store bought gown… don’t let commercial chains fool you… they get the big bucks because they know people will “sheepishly” pay high prices… they even have a news feature about a popular bridal store where I live, where the brides line up like it’s going to be a new phone out, waiting for the half-price sale…..and even 3/4 price… they literally race into the store and pull and grab… and that’s been a looong tradition, for several decades, here….and on the other days, when a bride shops, they search for the pretty dress that would cost the least.. my wife also found one that was beautiful and unique and way less on a day when that particular sale wasn’t going on, and she paid nowhere near the original price (with some good timing, and she still has the receipt and our wedding pics to prove it)… ==So, you can imagine that if women wait for stores to have the sales, then a less expensive made, quality gown, which would be from a a friend would be very much in demand, when the opportunity is available….

So many people read so much into a simple comic strip. Gunther is being congratulated by his friends for the great work he did on the costumes. And yes, he could have a great future in that field if that’s what he wants. The end.

And yes, teens do love theatre and go to theatre camp. I met many of them through my daughter, who is now majoring in theatre.

it’s drawn in 2D, roll the strip into a cylinder and you will see they are standing in a circle. Brad and Frank are standing next to each other and Nancy is standing in front of Gunther reaching towards him.You can’t see it due to the perspective but there is a gap between Nancy and Quill big enough for Luann to slip into.

Note that it is Brad, not Toni, who is suggesting that Gunther come up with another monstrosity like the one he created for Luann to ear in the beauty pageant. I have a feeling that Brad will really get an icy stare when Toni turns around to shut him up. Brad wants to save money, but Toni wants to save her dignity.

As for why Luann is not present, maybe she is embarrassed to be seen alongside her little spy.

Gunther is modest, not a braggart, even though he has much to brag about. Tiffany, on the other hand, seems never to have learned that constantly celebrating your own abilities just annoys others, instead of attracting praise.

“Absolutely. As Mort Walker’s boys, Bil Keane’s son, or Chic Young’s son can tell you; comic strip syndication is like a family business which can be passed down from generation to generation. Karen is set for life and in all likelihood will be able to pass on Luann to her kids in 30 years, who will be able to tell the stories about Luann in college and the honeymoon of Brad and Toni.”--We shall see. As I posted a couple week ago, we may all be posting on Luann Again before long. What makes me suspicious is when I first posted this theory, it got deleted. Too close to home?

Gunther has a bright career before him in costume designing and tailoring, even if it might be second to his eventual day job. However, I am also puzzled as to why Rosa wasn’t one of the ones congratulating him. Was she even in the audience or did Greg not have enough space for her in the comic? Seems odd.

Luann lives in San Diego county, right? Remember that when Quill went to visit his uncle, I think it was, and when Tiffany went to work on the movie set, they both flew to LA, which seems excessive. But when Knute and Crustal went to Comic-Con in San Diego (where Gunther was already present), they drove there in the morning and back in the evening. This leads me to believe that “Pitt” is actually San Marcos, CA, which is where Greg Evans lives.
