Poor Mr. Snowden is a patriot who is being persecuted by a state that spies on every citizen in this country, and in others. It is the US government that has betrayed what it was supposed to stand for.
The Gestapo hasn’t escalated it to “treason” yet,. just “espionage”. To be espionage, one must show who was spied and for whom. The evidence so far is that he was employed by a private multinational corporation (and multinational corporations are above the law) to spy on US citizens for the profit of said corporation, and incidental benefit of the growing power of the US state police apparatus (English translation of Gestapo).
