Perhaps neither was earned, but at least they wanted to give it to Obama. Poor reasoning for the decision, but that is different from petty theft.

If the Nobel peace prize actually meant something, that would certainly be true.Of course, the fact that they awarded it to a unaccomplished Chicago community organizer based solely on his skin color is proof positive that the Nobel “peace” prize is meaningless.

Obama got the Nobel Prize for not being Bush. That’s all.

Yassir Arafat also was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

But let’s be fair: this is a peace prize built on money made from the invention of gunpowder. No wonder the awarding boards are confused.

Better gag if Obama hadn’t said at the time that he didn’t deserve the award and then given the prize money to charity.

^Coraryan: as usual wrong on all counts. HIs stepfather took them to Indonesia, not the Philippines, and the school he attended there was a CATHOLIC RUN school! He’s never professed to be Muslim, and well, Rev. Wright in Chicago was OBVIOUSLY a Muslim, not a Baptist preacher. (Wright was also a Marine medic, and served the nation honorably, which Bush and Cheney did NOT, and therefore has Wright had a right to express his opinion on how this nation had gone wrong under a near dictatorship out for wars.)

The “unprecedented breakthrough” would be Obama being elected America’s first non-Caucasian president, yes?How exactly is that a remarkable enough contribution to the cause of “peace” for him to be awarded the Nobel “peace” prize?
