Before there was Wikipedia, there was Linus, and he wasn’t so irritated by Sally at the time.

That’s for that, Linus. Kids just aren’t that smart anymore.

While Snoopy made that observation in the last panel, Linus went on to tell Sally that the Dog Star is over 20 times brighter than our Sun and twice as massive as it, and that it would take one 92 billion years to get to it if they were to travel towards it at a speed of 65 miles an hour.

Maybe it’s just me… I thought the speed limit in outer space was the speed of light.

I was always told that the “dog days” were the very hottest days of summer because of the rising of the bright dog star, Sirius. They used to think that the bright star showing up in the sky at that time was making the days hotter.

Linus’ dialog is written by an adult.

Linus is one smart cookie. Haha Linus is the smart one and Lucy is the crabby one. I have yet to figure out what Rerun is, since he’s not in any of the comic strips, I’ve read.

I wonder if Sally still likes Linus. I would think she’d be adoring him bc of his wisdom. Haha

Actually the dog days coincide with the annual flooding of the Nile.

Ancient alien theorists would undoubtedly ask, “How does the rising of a star cause the Nile to flood?” It must have been a alien spacecraft. I don’t take this theory Siriusly.

Dog days (hot, muggy, hazy) here are more like August 11 to September 20.
