I don’t think she could have had Quill no matter what.

Quill and Gunther are having a nice chat and it’s good to see Quill acknowledging Gunther’s positive aspects.

Tiffany is a complete attention whore, and probably there is an underlying neglect type reason in her life at home. I wonder if Greg is going to explore that?? We really don’t know that much about Tiff at all.

I’m beginning to believe Greg is finally over the whole Gunther/Luann thing. Maybe he’s finally going to let Luann have her Aaron Hill.

But we will never know anything more about Tiffany Farrell other than she is “evil”. if we did know anything more about her, it wouldn’t take long to conclude that Luann is the popular one we’re supposed to hate while Tiffany is the unpopular one who always hatches some scheme in order to be popular.

She’s desperate for attention because she admitted to Crystal that she’s never had a real boyfriend.

There’s also the “black hole” theory… when you don’t get the attention you seek at home, you look elsewhere….but when you fill that void only with empty, meaningless things, and never the things of substance, then each time you do, it will still leave an empty space… Tiffany may have only learned from family how to use material things to fill the spaces… she may really want what is normal, but is caught up in a perpetual trap, a cycle that keeps happening until it becomes the only life someone like her knows….. ==And she can’t ask for what she needs, because she doesn’t even know what that is… the attention seeking and all is only because she feels the constant need to “keep up an image”, and it’s really a false inflation of self esteem, but maybe one day she could find it in her own searching, or maybe someone could come along and give her the meaningful things “without prejudice”, maybe she could learn what true living and love is….. hopefully, it won’t be too late to learn…..

And sometimes, it takes getting spoken to like Quill did… not so much the volume, but more along the lines of the content and strength of his words….

Of course, if Tiff is truly just up to no good at the moment, she could be just quiet only as she broods and plots her next move….

While the guys in Luann’s life sort things out, Tiffany is apparently well on the way to recovering from her misstep with Quill, to judge from her appearance in panel 1….

Would be interesting to see T’s parent’s somedayMaybe get a different scope, see what makes herfunction. For that matter, would be nice to get a glimpseof Quill’s parents, they could be skyped. I was hoping Greg would skip to another story this week.

This whole thing is a sham to misdirect your attention away from the fact that Greg and Tiffany have had a thing going forever; I understand he erases her clothes when no one is around….

Erase? When he could just draw her that way or Luann. Worse yet. Bernice! ACK!!! Oh, But, I’d love to see that Toni. SWEEEET!

Well now, what a couple of rational guys. Tiff meanwhile doesn’t look so distraught. Which direction does the story go now. Does Tiff bounce back as resourceful and confident as ever as the story just breezes along, or do we learn more about her past and the cracks in her facade?

I’m leaning toward that Tiff’s parents, especially her dad does show her the time and love she needed growing up..Or her mom has screwed her up making her think a woman isn’t anything without a hansom man..Or Tiff is simply wired this way and her parent did the best they could.

I know this’ll sound cliché, but I have a feeling Evans is gonna start a plot-line about Tiff’s zero-father-figure-relationship. Her desperate need for masculine attention screams ‘No Daddy in the picture’.

Storyline’s been done. Boring!!

where I come from girls like Tiffany were worshipped and adored. Guys wanted them and girls wanted to be like them. In Luann’s make-believe universe everybody sees through her superficial character. It might be nice if the world was like that, but this strip would do a better job portraying teen life if it stayed a bit closer to reality.

Well then, its Decided. Tiffany NEEDS a Boyfriend. A REAL Boyfriend not some “Boy Trophy”.

Knute? Hmmmm. It MIGHT be Interesting to FINALLY Bust Up the So-Called Friendship between Tiff and Crystal. But I FORGOT: Knute ISN’T Tiff’s “Type”, whatever the HEL…., Er, I MEAN, “HECK” That is.

What about Oxford? Yesssss. He IS a Hero and He DID come to Her “Rescue” once, so She DOES Owe Him One. And with Ox, Maybe, just MAYBE Tiff will Look past “Looks” to see the “Beauty” within.

What happened to Bernice’s brother, Nic?

I don’t think it would worth delving into the Tiffany character. She should disappear and let the strip focus on the real people: luann, quill, brad and Toni.

I wonder if we really will find out more about Tiffany. If it’s a sob story, I vow not to feel sorry for her.

I like the mix of personality types that Greg populates his strip with.

I feel like there’s room for a lot of discussion and interpretation in the comments about every aspect of the characters and story but the moment you make a suggestion that maybe some characters would be better with others, it’s considered immature or tasteless or something. In other news, I’m bored of this storyline already. We get it. Luann is virtuous and never wrong, Tiffany is a terrible trollop and Quill’s outback heart forever belongs to the wholesome beauty of Luann. Next storyline, please.

If we really get to know Tiffany, we may not excuse her actions but we WILL get to understand her. Then she won’t be the “enemy” any more.*How about if she pairs up with Quill’s roomie, Roscoe?

I feel sorry for Tiffany (to the extent that it makes any sense to feel sorry for a fictitious character, of course!) because no one gives her credit for what she is – a dedicated aspiring actress who is really working to get jobs, land roles, and learn the business. All her classmates (and apparently many readers of the strip!) dismiss her as strictly an airhead, but they fail to recognize the effort that she puts into becoming an actress. She’s not just slacking off and expecting good things to come her way, simply because she feels she deserves them. There are other characters in this strip who more nearly fit that bill.

The way I see it is that Tiffany’s parents are rich… and busy… and did not have time for their little girl. So she was basically raised by a nanny (or some other servant). Possibly a succession of nannies..Since she did not get the love and attention that she needs at home, she tries to get what she can elsewhere..I bet she never even had a pet… a dog or cat would have been too “dirty” for what I expect is an immaculate house..I feel sorry for the child she was… but that does not excuse the things that she does now.

Gunther does NOT seem to realize that whoever is in love with Luann, tiff will target to try and get them to pay attention to her instead.seems that tiff thinks all males should be in love with her. like in a cartoon, The Fairy Oddparents the character of Trixie Tang.

Is been years for us, but they’re still 16, aren’t they? It should been weeks or days for them since they’re still in the same grade, did I miss something????

It’s called narcissism. Had a boss like that once. It’s characterized not so much by self-love as by the inablity to see other human beings as anything but objects. Once a narcissist has gotten what she wants by using the person, she can cast him aside without a thought. Glad Gunther realized that’s what was going on.

I meant moreso as a character, by the commenters and the narrative.

Tiffany hasn’t been a cheerleader since she was banned for life for her blackmail scheme with Luann.

That is absolutely untrue. Women don’t even have to be unattractive to have trouble meeting men. Shy women often come across as unapproachable, and often end up living with a houseful of cats.

Only readers who are determined to wonder anyway.

Resentment at/fear of her parents, no doubt. She needs attention to help bandage that pet resentment/fear. And I speak from experience.

RE: Mary Lincoln, the woman lost two of her sons as young children, her husband gets fatally shot while sitting next to her in a theater, then another son dies at the age of 18. How sane would anybody be after all that?

Tiffany enjoys Crystal’s company because Crystal, contrary to the image she means to project, is fairly non judgmental. She lets Tiffany do her thing without trying to change her and without trying to take advantage of her. Everyone else either hates her or wants something from her. There is no competitiveness between them because they don’t want the same things.

Crystal likes Tiffany because, as she has mentioned, she finds her shiny and entertaining. From Crystal’s perspective Tiffany’s prattle is harmless and restful. She puts on such a show of expecting things to be deep and meaningful and morbid that a shallow, optimistic person like Tiffany keeps her from buying her own hype.

It is still possible that Quill was saying that Tiffany was missing out on him (Quill) as the “nice guy”…. Even though Quill has made it clear that he “doesn’t like Tiffany”, it doesn’t mean that he’s not confident that he’s a great catch and so it could also be him saying that "she’s out of his league, as well as being out of Gunther’s league… in effect, he could have been reassuring Gunther that Tiffany missed out on a good catch when she didn’t really “show affection” for Gunther, and that he (Quill) is also “out of her league”…..
