Now I’m wondering if the pronouncements of the HC were just to rattle the various players and reveal that level of the plot? But at the same time, there is the more nefarious business of the deadly Rat Massacre (though the specific event was not pre-plotted, the stage was set for that manner of incident)

Jacob has been slouched over his podium for the last week, and seems to have been quietly observing. Even now, he seems bemused at Allgood’s outburst. And another rat loses his weapon to an angry civilian….

I’ll be mildly surprised if he even makes it out of the room without that door slamming shut in his face.

I think Allgood’s a dead man walking too, and rightly so. If he intends to shoot his way through a horde of militaristic rats, who are cut off from orders and in the dark, he deserves no less. Rage is a dangerous toy, sometimes gives you strength, often makes you stupid.

Veteran, Sherman, Dad:This one’s for you.

Allgood has more sense than whoever he snuck into the HC and realises that actually killing the “defendants” will only turn the whole of Endtown against him.

The rats have been shown to be rather a cowardly lot. When there was a crowd with a single gun vs three rats, two with machine guns, the rats fled.

It’s still quite possible Allgood will end up dead at the end of this arc, but there’s also a good chance he’ll actually accomplish his goal (which atm appears to be to assassinate the HC – or at least the member(s) he snuck into the council).

Maybe this was just an elaborate plot to discredit him and his followers on one side?On the other it was a good show that the way the High Council is set up has it’s dangers?The High Council could be transmitting from Endtown after all and yes, it would be at a terrible cost. But what would happen if someone really crazy or malcious ends up controlling the council?

He’s not their man… err Bear anymore.

A race against a sliding metal door can never end good.

Question is: Can Allgood get out there before thedoor slices him in two?

It will be interesting to see such a large person handle a weapon designed for someone only two feet tall. How does he expect to get to the trigger? It should have a trigger guard.

Allgood may well realise that if they’re going to kill the three ladies, the HC has no compunction letting him take the fall and getting the crowd to goad and kill him. If you see yourself suddenly a dead man, then you have nothing to lose… and that’s when you get unhinged, as normal rules suddenly stop in your brain.

The rat in panel 2 looks like something of out Spy vs. Spy.

TSOJ, That was my thought too she appears as a younger version of Flask. Again alternative reality lines.I think our author had a flashback moment.Now I think I can say Allgood will not have that CVA moment. I think it is going to be an GSW event.( Gun Shot Wound) cop jargon and medical term.

Too bad they turned of the cameras…Seeing Allgood going ballistic would have done wonders for the ratings (and TV sales).

Xane_TAs much as I dislike moralists (and living in Kansas I get more than my share) I’m a little sympathetic. I get the impression, deep down that Allgood really didn’t want to see anybody get hurt. He called the High Council to confirm that there wasn’t going to be executions and even cut short his own questioning when it occurred to him that mentioning Linda’s past could be a death sentence. He may be a jerk about it but I think he really felt that it was his job to “reform” these women. I’ll give him some sympathy for that, even if I haven’t forgiven him his questioning of Maude.

This kills me that the rats are still doing the job with no will of their own. Do they even see this whole thing is crazy?

That door isn’t closing, it’s opening – the HC is letting him out.

Politics makes strange bedfellows! Wouldn’t be funny if Allgood became a hero and ended up saving Endtown from itself?

Allgood made a deal with a devil, forgetting he was making a deal with A DEVIL. Is it a devil we know or a devil we don’t?If it’s someone we know, I think the most likely person would be Cooper. He has resentment against both the Humanity faction represented by Allgood and the Mutantity faction represented by Jackrabbit. He’s been disenfranchised by both for not fitting in with either.Cooper warned Wally and Holly that something like this was coming, but neglected to mention that it might be coming from him.

I believe the folks who were all fairly sure how this was going to turn out are about to be surprised to learn that Aaron is a better storyteller than they realize…

when I 1st saw and read this, my take was, He will g and confront the person behind the curtain. Now I see NObody sees that getting to happen. But it was fun imagining him doing that. Like he gets there, and there are only 1 or 2 people, "where are the rest of the council members?, or “why Velda, why?”

One comment about Allgood – we may be seeing a case of full-blown schism syndrome here. This is what Gustine was afraid was going to happen to her and she’d go into a frenzy. If this is schism syndrome, then it’s exactly what Allgood has been fighting against for the last 6 years.
