Why does this remind me of so many parents I know?

A leap of faith ,no doubt.

I know a mother who walks her kid to school… they live two doors from the school.

and then a hawk swoops down and eats both of them

As my father concluded after decades of being a grown-up son: in the eyes of a protective mother, you are never more than twelve years old.

My wife does home health for a woman who has a 22 year son who she litterly won’t let him change a light bulb on the front porch because he’s “scared of heights” I can stand flatfooted and reach it. He won’t get a job because he may have to walk too far from home. You can walk one end of that town to the other in half an hour. Course our taxes support them.

That’s why she’s checking the bungee cord.

I’m guilty as that red bird…but trying to reform.

Must be a parrot.

Is that a future Arizona Cardinal?I sometimes wish my mom had cared like that..I suppose it wouldn’t have made any difference because she knew I would go ahead and do whatever I damn well pleased anyway..
