This isn’t funny, it’s irresponsible. I felt the same way during the whole Paris misadventure. I don’t like drama, I like funny. Boo.

Val, if you’re going to call in sick when you’re not, the least you could do is STAY HOME!!

@snarkmWorse – “I agree, this isn’t funny because a fake sickday is a very real reason to get fired.”Company I worked for took away our sick days (10) gave us 5 extra PTO on our vacation time and said, when it is used up for vacation or sick you have not more time on the books. All due to abuse of the sick leave policy. We are not checking on you Adults anymore, handle it.

I knew she should’ve just asked Evie to go. There was no reason she had to go herself. Or she could’ve waited til her working hours would’ve been over.

It’s nobody’s business at work if you’re sick. That’s personal information. Hence PTO. Then you don’t even have to lie about it. You get the days and can use them however you want. Go Val!

There have been times in my work experience when I was really and truly sick, but I discovered I was out of something I needed (like OJ or hot broth or ginger ale) to help my recovery – or at least deal with the symptoms. And I live alone, so I had to go get it myself. Or, coming back from the Drs. office with an RX, and the pharmacy was located inside the supermarket.

She could say she’s had a reprieve from her violent vomiting and explosive diarrhea but it could return at any moment. Not every sickness is a cold, you know.

How about “I’m here to pick up some medicine”, “I’m here to pick up some orange juice”, “I’m here to get away from my kids so I can have peace & quiet to recover”?

I’m hoping this turns into a “humility lesson” for Val, because she certainly isn’t being a very good example to her impressionable daughters. When she gets nailed her daughters can see that lying or playing hooky doesn’t pay off in the long run.
