That’s why Rand Paul was doing his filibuster. He wanted a straight answer from the White House about their authority to drone strike US Citizens on US Soil. Here’s the problem with the answer they gave: if you are out at the range doing target practice (which quite a few conservatives have been known to do), you could be considered “armed.” And if you are deemed “dangerous,” or whatever, the rationale could be twisted to mean that you would be a target of drone assassination. Far-fetched? Not in this administration.

And where’s the criticism that Obama has further empowered the patriot act to go beyond its mandated design and scope?

Tigger, you, like many, don’t seem to understand those Bush “signing statements” that changed laws, were total violations of Constitutional authority to the Executive Branch, but with criminals like Ashcroft and Gonzales to tell him it was “okay” he kept doing it, jus like many of his Executive Orders that were also, despite their wording, quite unconstitutional. That never bothered Reagan, Bush 41, but especially Cheney and Bush 43.
