When I fish I either give them away or throw them back. Then get the wife and go to a sea food place and eat fish, no mess no fuss and no cleaning. I live about 4 miles from Kentucky Lake but I don’t get to fish as much as I’d like to maybe next year.
Wrong way entirely. What we do is that every time we have food the kids don’t like or don’t know the rule is they have to taste it. Just one bite. If they don’t like it, they can have something else (or eat the other things in the dinner if it’s just maybe the avocado in the salad or something). Then next time, try again, one bite. They get gradually used to the taste and after a while might grow to like it. My kids will eat almost anything. (Must admit I nearly fainted the other day as my not-loving-fish daughter (17) had to go out before dinner and asked me to save some of the boiled haddock and potatoes for when she came back).

Saw a video on cleaning gar. It involved using a Sawzall, sheet metal shears and wearing mesh gloves.

Take Mike on a tour of a hot dog or sausage making factory. He’ll either gladly opt for the fish, or become a vegan.

Look, if you have to remove the scales, it’s best just to filet the thing, no reason to gut it, cut off it’s head and fins.

I was thinking the same thing. The gutting was done at the dock and the scaling in the yard out back.

My husband cleans them in the sink. I fry ’em in butter, we eat. Yum.
