Representative Jim Langevin, a Rhode Island Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, said on Monday that among those in Congress who are most informed, the consensus was strong and bipartisan. “Those who have been fully briefed are comfortable with the capabilities used, the way they have been used and the due diligence exercised in making sure the agency responsible for carrying out and using the tools has been doing so within confines of the law,” he said. “There is nothing nefarious going on here.”

this is not news, it started quite a while ago and was perfected by W with the “patriot” act. THAT is when we traded our liberty for “safety”. this is neither new or news, it’s more scandal making. I say scandal making because they have thrown everything they can think of at Obama and he makes a fine Scapegoat. Really, the Government on both sides knows you can’t just tell everything that is going on, because we have made so many enemies. ( starting wars, killing wantonly, telling other countries how to live), that is sure calling the kettle black. These cartoons really bring out the most radical opinions.
People who protest that taxes are “Illegal”, should be watched when they try to claim “tax-free” status. People who reveal secret information that compromises “covert” or overt operations of the military, or other components of our “defense” ARE guilty of treason.
People who totally supported the previous administration, and members of Congress, from both parties, who passed laws giving potentially oppressive “tools” to the Executive, OR the Legislative branch, should either just shut up, or get their Congresspersons to rescind those “laws”.

Didn’t anyone pay attention to the commie-pinko-liberal-news-sources when they showed the climate-controlled locked rooms at Verizon et al, where the data traveling through fiber-optics was split: one for you, one for the government? Don’t you remember Qwest making a principled stand against the program, only to be told by the courts they had no right to protect their customers’ privacy? Now, do you understand why the program was called “Prism”?
