Except for an occasional good day, A.C. has become a rote read, like D.T. was before the new team took over. The art looks okay to me, just that maybe a coupla guys from the peanut gallery here could be supplying the stories. I agree that Chalkie was always the straight man; Hardy to Andy’s Laurel or Abbott and Costello (forget which one’s the dimmest bulb)...Great samplings, Sandman !You salvaged an otherwise dreary offering today. Chalkie’s medicinal helpings of time tested and trues hit the spot real good too !

But this time, judging by the strip, the ubiquitous Capp cap stayed high ( pun intended ) and dry , while Officer Plod took the proverbial evening bath in the canal.Now that I’ve commented on the strip – which won’t satisfy a certain bitter old troll – let me say that snarky comments directed at one of the nicest contributors to this and other strips, just won’t do ! We are like an open family here and everyone is welcome, as long as you play nice. Insult one of us, you insult us all. If you don’t like us, don’t read our comments. Period !

I’m sure you’re reading this. I am glad bev mentioned being away for a few days, so we don’t get concerned over her abscence. When someone disappears for a few days their friends and fellow posters who are used to their banter, miss them and hope all is okay. Of course, there are other posters who wouldn’t be missed at all.
I am just now getting to check email and stuff. I had 2 differnt appointments today so this is very late in being posted. It was meant to be posted to Mikey J’s attention late yesterday evening but I was snoring by the time it got here.From our Mountain Man in the Red Rocks of Colorado:

This person has been observed to actually be civil in other columns. Not that “it” (she) is being downright obscene, but please do us the gratuity of removing that person’s posts from A.C. once in awhile as it is only an ill wind….. On that note, I wish I could be as obnoxious as Guard Sergeant while not getting my posts, or my self pulled. ….

Number Six had informed the Andy Capp group how you guys told him that some of the other comic writers wish their Comments column generated the happy banter that exists at Capp; good publicity and all that. I have seen a convivial atmosphere at Ballard Street too.Your weather may be insufferable by now but it hasn’t gotten that way here…. yet ! Good day and thank you for your attention.
