One thing we can be sure of is that data collected by corporations will be closely held and there will be no leaks or security breaches of any kind. I mean, there haven’t been any at all, so far, right?-Also, corporations would never sell your data unless there was a good reason, like if they could make money from doing so. But, they would never do anything illegal or violate anyone’s privacy in the process.-And if they did do something illegal, they would be held strictly accountable, because corporations are people, aren’t they my friend? Why just last week another corporation was put in jail for 30 days, unless they behaved really really well, in which case they would get out a little early. -And, we know all this stuff only started on the day Obama was elected (or was it nominated?) and as soon as his term is over, all this will stop.

The corporate dudes make me a lot more nervous. Just think “spamming” and I.D. theft, coming from those nice “corporate sources”.

But I thought you lefties promised us your boy BHO would bring a whole new era of openness?Despite his obvious incompetence, you guys said that his Hope and Change attitude would overcome that and he would be a HUGE success.Oh well.

If you idiots ever open your eyes and figure out that both parties have sold you down the river, it’ll be a miracle…

People actually seem to believe that the government is somehow going to monitor, and even worse, actually listen in on every phone call, text message, and internet communication by every American! The amount of data to do this is far more than every one of the some 10 million employees of the federal government could ever do in the average lifetime of all such employees put together!!

Can you even begin to imagine what having the job of listening in to the giggly conversations and texts of millions of American teenagers would be like? You would either go stark raving mad, or die of boredom, take your pick!!

For this once at least, I have to take what has been all along a relatively conservative opinion, that if you are an average law abiding American citizen you have nothing to fear from your government. And that was either under the GW Bush administration, or under the current president Obama administration. Heck, even if you were plotting some form of criminal activity, it is highly unlikely that the federal government is going to know about it. Besides which, when you talk on your cell phone, those signals already go through satellites that are indeed capable of retaining just about every conversation you have ever had. But just who is going to listen in and monitor those terabytes of information that go through such systems every single day!! This is not a constitutional thing people, it is a gigantic data analysis thing! So for heavens sake, lighten up, big brother is not going to be listening as you order your thick crust pizza from your local pizza parlor!

@mark. True! Both parties are “party” to the madness. And both are needed to stop it. Our infrastructure crumbles, we are no longer #1 in much of anything good, out tax structure is horrendous, our balance of power is out of whack…. And the two parties continue to distract the voting population with petty arguments.

Uh … take another look out there. Your wait is over.

Civil forfeiture laws, warrantless searches … what do you think all that is about? Did you see the Monsanto Protection Law slip by your door? What about the ruling that confirmed ‘person’ status for corporations?

How long do you think we should wait?

this would also speak volumes about the GOP who in 2010 won a landslide promising “JOBS!” But All voters have been shafted by the congress being so caught-up in petty partisan squabling over every little thing in every little bill or vote.plus the GOP has been re-pealing the AFA, around 38 times. unless this kind of thing stops, one nation will not see any thing done.

Do you seriously think you can sell that pup here? Get real.]The jobs were offshored long before Obama ever thought of running.

My gripe with Obama is he hasn’t brought them back – but the GOP is hostile to that idea, so it’s not going to happen, right?
