Does he know why it keeps getting infected?I can’t help but wonder how they would react if they knew that all the bad stuff that is being kept from them? I hope Linda ca bring such an outstanding speech, or surprize that it will change the outcome, or expose the SC. She had just started having good feelings, but that has to have been superceded by anger and indignation.unless she is channeling a topsider’s plan.

This may be one of the reasons why the press wasn’t allowed to sit in. Rather than the purported excuse that they’d disrupt the proceedings, it reduces the number of people that have to be isolated from the main colony.As for this being over “once and for all”, even if this wasn’t a rigged trial and the colony being thrown into chaos, a law against the use of mutant by-products wouldn’t go uncontested by Jake’s people under the best of conditions.

This story is taking us closer and closer to the point of explosion.

Selina The Greytone Assistant here,Some news as to Aarons condition he was released from the hospital around 9:00 yesterday, but about 20 minutes later had a severe reaction to the antibiotic and had amongst other side effects severe shortness of breath.He was readmitted put on a heavy I.V does of Benadryl along with a Steroid to clear up the very severe and quick moving inflammation.After a several hour observation and time to let the benadryl and steroid do their work he was released this afternoon and has spent the day trying to sleep off the worst of the benadryl coma.Due to the extremely dangerous reaction he was prescribed a heap of medications to use to help keep the antbiotic for his leg from causing him to be unable to breathe or have a shock reaction.However for the time being he is stable and doing what he can to keep the strip going.Please remember to tweet around and repost his medical fundraiser page the medications alone he had to buy have a chunk out his already tight finances.

Selina, thanks for the updates. I was personally concerned about the antibiotics. I have seen those type of reactions occur with heavy usage and I can imagine from what I have read his infection is very serious requiring some pretty strong ones. The new strains moving around now are really scary as they can resist to an extreme level. Doc Rat would know about that, so would Jenner.When I had my hernia surgery I was concerned about that myself. But held lucky.I hate to think of the alternative. However to save his life it may one day come to that. When tonsils get infected and no longer react to antibiotics the only solution is removal. I don’t know the location except the leg which does go all the way up but enough on that. My grandfather had that happen to him as a child.

On the story:Finally Linda comes forth. Enter stage LEFT!(Really third but I figured I would jump on that before others)Jake is a realist and suspects the worse down below.Allgood is an idealist and suspects nothing.

Linda is the witness I have been looking forward to most. I wonder what must be going through her mind. I did this to help an old man and even though I broke no laws I ended up here? What kind of people are these mutants? If she blows up, the results could be interesting.

I don’t like the markups on Linda’s file. I don’t like that it sounds like Allgood is using “once and for all” like Linda might be the final nail sealing a coffin.

Something I noticed on her photo other than the Endtown security mark. The number 17 lower right corner.16 other ex Topsiders in Endtown that they know of?It could also mean the 17th one processed that day.But we do know our author would not do something without a meaning. That 17 means something.

I wonder if Mallard is behind all this, engineered to get people to accept mutant products as food. His hydroponics and other food projects may not be going as well as he’d like, and people’s acceptance of mutant eggs and milk wasn’t coming fast enough. If he pushed things to extremes, people might accept mutant products faster. Linda was the perfect catalyst to draw focus on the matter. If he’s the mastermind, of course he would refuse to help the women out.

Well, Linda is the focus of this story, no matter how far it seems to have strayed from it…

After what her ‘fellow humans’ did to others with the brain harvesting and all, the fact she can’t go back to her child because she’s now a mutant all for policy, and their view that now she’s sub-human…

yea, I imagine she’s going to have a lot of ‘kind words’ about humanity in general. Algood might very well know this too.

Yeah, I think that’s exactly what Linda is going to say, that the Endtowners, from her perspective, are acting like a bunch of humans. Don’t forget the kindness that Maude and Holly showed her after she arrived in Endtown, even after Linda tried to extract Holly’s brain before mutating. Also the cake itself was an act of compassion. Linda’s introduction to and treatment in Endtown was really kind of sweet right up to when the rats swooped in like imperial stormtroopers.-That said, I think the dialog in today’s strip is kind of interesting. Jacob clearly wants to know what the heck is going on while Allgood is still focused on his script as if nothing has happened,a denial of reality. This relates to the fact that Allgood is basically denying the fact that they have all mutated into a bunch of anthros.-I think Linda will give Allgood a good piece of her mind and Allgood will have some kind of epiphany during his cross examination of Linda.

Well, it looks like we’ll finally hear what Linda has to say…Next week…

Level_HeadCall it “professional courtesy” lawyers do it all the time. I have seen both defense and prosecutors doing what all the time in my line of work. Adversaries but on a friendly term. Till the trial starts then its MR this and MR that. MY ESTEEMED COLLEAGUE all meant to be sarcastic. That is when they start throwing out all the BIG words.After all it is all about the SHOW! Gotta get in the good impressions.Later when its all over and done they all go out to lunch or dinner. Friends once again. I knew two, a defense and a prosecutor, who even when to the same law school at the same time. They would throw who graduated higher at each other, who got the better grade in this law test, who had the highest bar exam score. Once they were done. Everyone went to Hooters. They would have a few drinks and wings and sing the school’s fight song.True Story

I can sympathize with Aaron as I have the same problem with my legs. In my case all the Dr.s can do is keep it under control as it’s incurable. The problem has put me on disability as I can no longer stand or walk for more than 20 min without suffering agony that only narcotics can lessen.

As far as what’s going on in the comic I think it might be one person who has taken over the HC. And he’s gone insane from being cooped up underground. So is now trying to control every facet of life underground.

I feel the urge to summarize again…let me see…#There’s the vast majority of Endtowners, who have been shot at and are now feeling imprisoned…among them are subgroups, like Jake Jackrabbit’s “embrace your outer mutant” group, whatever’s left of Allgood’s “keep your humanity and don’t use anybody’s eggs” group…there’s the “Endtown Examiner” gentlemen and ladies of the press.#Above them (literally) are the Security Rats, a gung-ho group whose attitude has led them to abuse the rights of the other Endtowners…but who now have landed on the other side after, let’s face it, an accidental shooting…they’re pretty scared now, but have been forbidden to do anything about it.#Above them (figuratively) are the High Council, who cloak themselves in anonymity and seem bent on a path that leads Endtown to destruction-from-within—-symbolized by a trial of three Endtowners, which the High Council seems set on continuing no matter what happens.#Then there’s Allgood and Jackrabbit, who know something (else) has gone wrong, but have no idea what. They defend Holly, Maude, and Linda, who may not have any idea something (else) has gone wrong, but still fear for their own lives, as they’re still the ones on trial.#Holly and Maude have already given their testimony—-so it’s all up to Linda. Poor Linda.

I think we all missed something. Those Records Allgood is holding. When Jacob had the same types on Al and Gustine the Rats tore him up over it. Why does Allgood have Classified Endtown Security documents on Linda? He should not have those as he is not a part of the Endtown Security force. He is a citizen who oversees an organization he has no rights to those secure documents. I think Velda has been very busy within Endtown Security Files. She may have more dirt on folks than we can imagine. Jacob got his butt kicked over those on Al and Gustine and Mole and Crawford were killed for leaking information. I wonder if Jacob will pick up on that? I think he is smart bunny and can say SET UP.

TSOJ, you see it too about her files.I think I can shed some light on why Linda is last. The build up. Linda is the final piece. Maude and Holly are just a side line. He could have picked up Maude and Holly just for the cheese but what BIG story is there about cheese.No one died.Now with Linda came a death of Mr. Hopper. Linda came in hidden. ExTopsider. All secrecy and hush hush with orders not to disclose and such. Linda made a cake using mutant by products she got and took and a well respected Endtown resident died. She is the story. Maude and Holly side notes. Linda is the shock value. The big hammer to nail the coffin. Just how does Linda come out. Swinging or whimpering. I think we are in for a ride with Linda. I don’t see her standing still for this. I think if death is her final destiny she will not go quietly. The thing is can the High Council shut her off by shutting down transmissions? I don’t think they can except by ordering it but does the control room have to obey the order? As Mae West said “Hang on boys, its going to be a bumpy ride.”

Veteran, TSOJ, Witchspell, Jussayin, Level-Head, Dragoncat, Surfstuff, and anyone else,

I would like to bring up this speculation: It has been brought up before that Velda may have ben a Topsider. What if Linda knew Velda? What if Linda was able to identify Velda being the head of the High Council by her speech patterns? If the voice was disguised by going through a scrambler. (Believe me, I’ve used encrypted phones and the words are almost unrecognizable, but I was able to identify the gender and the voice without knowing the name.) How would that affect what Linda says?

On Aaron’s behalf once again thank you all for your kind words , donations, and prayers.You all are wonderful people who have and do keep Endtown alive.He say’s he’s fairing ok minus being well sedated from all the antihistamines they put him on to keep from having the antibiotics cause another severe allergic response, but he’s still working on the strip quoting the Marx Mantra every step of the way.“To The Greater Good” , but from what I’ve learned from working with him that’s just the way he is.Again humbly thank you all for your help!

It’s simpler, actually; by bringing up Linda’s past, he’ll stain the very notion of using mutant products… because it was started by one of the very Topsiders who oppose them. Who else would contemplate such things, attempting to poison the minds of Endtown, than someone who has always declared the inhuman nature of our fair citizens? It is no wonder that she can use the eggs and milk from ANIMALS, is it?

The tough part is figuring out who benefits from this situation… and I have an uneasy suspicion that the HC are trying to make Endtown more individual and less unified. But that begs the question of why…

Wanderwolf<,I see at least three possibilities.First, that whomever is controlling this wants mutant products banned so that they will be marketed through illicit channels. Sort of like alcohol and bootlegging.Secondly, somebody deliberately wanted to provoke the riots to give pretext to martial law and the High Council’s remaining in power.Third, somebody wants to destroy Endtown. Either an ex topsider who has mutated and still holds to the “all mutants must be destroyed” mantra or someone with a grudge against the community.Its also possible that there are different characters with different motives, like Velda working on the criminal element and the High Council working to stay in power. Different conspirators may not even be aware of each others motives.
