Mom needs to learn to say, NO do the dishes NOW.
That’s how I remember it; there was no thought of “I’ll do it later!”
Mom is very patient and will probably end up doing the dishes herself.
I think her mom was brought up in a time where dad had the final say-so in everything and mom didn’t know how to assert herself.
I grew up in a house with no “dishwasher”. My mom used to say she had 13 dishwashers in the house. Her 13 kids!!
