I’ll actually support that, Ima. If more people set up college funds, took an active part in their children’s education, and encouraged them to look towards degrees they could actually use and excel in, you would take the power away from the banks making the loans. Speaking from the side of the educator (my wife is a professor), if colleges stopped accepting everyone who applied and brought back their old acceptance standards, there would also be less loans in the first place. The student loan programs were instituted to supposedly allow a financially challenged student to enroll at a better school if they had the talent to succeed. Now they are handed out like candy at Halloween, and banks have learned that they make more money off of debt than they do from people who pay everything off. The best way to get around them is to save up and pay for everything yourself.
I got a degree, paid for it all myself (no help from parents), and didn’t have any student loan. It can be done.I decided to take a different route than normal and took 8 years to complete a 4 year degree. That way I could work 30-40 hours a week at the same time.I graduated with a degree AND 8 years of work experience.Sure I had no life, and it took a long time, but it was worth it. Now I have a good job, with good pay and no debt.
Student loan easily pays for itself when you get a degree in:Early Civilization,Classical Studies,Parapsychology,Surfing Studies,Art History and of courseJournalism.

That’s right, education is only for the rich so they can keep ruling the rest. We have to get back to the golden era of feudalisml.
