A heroci teacher is credited with saving her terrified students' lives by lying on top of them as a 200 MPH tornado hit their school. (Woman: It's not the kind of thing just anyone could do.) Indeed, it takes an exceptionally wide, dense and heavy person to successfully remain tethered to the ground during a category 5 tornado. (Woman: These kids would've died beneath a skinnier teacher.) School districts in Tornado-prone areas are planning to learn the lessons of Oklahoma. (Man: Size matters! Who cares if some skinny vegan aces the federal tests? We're looking for teachers who put way a wendy's triple and go back for more!) (Wanted: Fat french teachers, obese orchestra instructors, massive math teachers, random lardasses.) But even the hefty heroine of more has regrets. (Woman: I could have saved more. I could have eaten more. So many diets... you have no idea. If I'd just-) A message from the American restaurant association.

I am an Oklahoman, an educator, and a woman. I find this comic offensive from all of these viewpoints.

Well said. I understand Mr. Rall’s attempt at satire. He should also understand and have some respect for the teachers who would gladly have given their lives for their students, and yet still feel guilty because some of their students perished.

Of course. It’s not possible to shield someonefrom a class 5 tornado. Or a class 4. Thechildren who died in the basement orcrawlspace apparently died fromdrowning, not from the tornado itself.And I would assume the teacher wasshielding the students from flying debris.Whether she was trying to do just that,or trying to “save them from a class 5tornado”, that is what she most likelyaccomplished, at great risk to herself.Flying debris is the cause of mosttornado casualties .

If the media had simply stuck to the truth – teachers comforted and tried to protect their students during the tornado – that would have been fine. But they always have to go over-the-top.
