“Time for . . . at least $2 trillion to rebuild our infrastructure”Looks like the “deficit-debt disaster” that has obsessed the Republicans for the last few years is solved, at least for the next 10 years. Which is why the echo-chamber has gone dead silent on this issue. So I agree, ReFlex-76, now – with interest rates at near nothing – to really begin investing in the country’s future. 2 trillion might be a lot, but we have a ways to go to catch up with the Chinese.
No, We libs are trying to stop cons from destroying America. what do both sides agree is destroying? To me,1 is making women more in danger by killing the domestic violence law.by weakening the educational system.by starting wars. by ignoring the repair of the infrastructure.by making abortions illegalby (some) pushing for a Christian dominion movement toward a joined church and state.I could add more.
The cons so oppose protecting our country from the dirty-tar-sand-oil pipeline. If Obama would decide to approve it, the cons will blame the mess on him for many years. their refusal to believe what all scientists say, except for 1-2% wackos, about the climate change and that people have done things to cause or make it worse, is unreasonable, at least do it for your grandkids. The greed of the rich always overpowers the true conservatives who want to conserve the planet and the USA from doing it’s worst.
The elephant is more than wiling to put a knife between the shoulder blades of the nation to further the aims of their corporate mafia and religious fanatics, to further the “party” over that silly “nation”.
I think Obama is as good a president as we can get in the current political situation. In a better situation he would be a better president. But any president’s options are limited by what’s going on around him (or - soon?- her). If we want a better president, if we want Obama to be a better president, we have to create the conditions which will allow him to be better. That means getting the progressive message across to the American public so that they don’t fall for the Republican line on economics, the environment, foreign policy….
What universe do you live in Ima. By YOUR reckoning, FDR DID NOT win WWII, our GIs did. So that means LBJ lost Vietnam, and Reagan “won” Grenada. But Reagon “lost” Lebanon. Bush and Cheney DID NOT win a DAMN THING since we are STILL there. Chocolates and flowers, remember? Iraqi oil would pay for the war, remember? Of course you don’t, because you are too wedded to the wacko line to look at FACTS!!! I suppose if you wrre British,. you’d say Nelson and Wellington won their battles, and that the crown had nothing to do with it. I’ll bet you think Lincoln was a lousy president since he had to go to war to keep the Union together!

The GOP is staying on track to make Obama fail, but it is taking 8 years instead of 4 years. They still don’t care about the country.
