Even if people do not believe either that such Global Climate Change does even exist, or that we as human beings are not even responsible for it at all, or even if we are, we can not do anything about it, we should at the very least do as much as possible about the conditions that are generated by increasing extreme weather conditions. And that is regardless of the monetary cost, for just what are human lives actually worth?

The important thing is to keep pumping greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere as fast as possible. I mean, what harm could it do?

Further, it is not that this has not happened before even before human industrialized activity existed. It is the fact that (although fast by geologic time spans of millions of years) these relatively large world wide changes in the general climate have occurred not in thousands of years like the natural changes in the past. It is instead the fact that these changes have occurred over the last 150 years or so since the industrial revolution of mankind. And it is that rapidity of these changes that scientists see as a correlation to human activities that is influencing these Rapid Global Climate Changes, that is so important for humanity to pay attention to!!

Some people are idiots. They express their beliefs in generalities but refuse to mention the details. YES OF COURSE climate change has been going on for billions of years… it is the RAPIDITY of that change which is extraordinary. DUH! Change that should have taken thousands of years has happened in a decade. And is increasing as the level of CO² increases. DUH! And where does the CO² come from? Man-made cars, factories and planes. DUH. So no, it is not a liberal fantasy… it is a scientific reality. Oh, yeah, sorry. The Right Wing either refuses to believe the scientists or is too stupid to understand what science is… substituting Creationism etc for reality.

Common sense tells us that we should all do our part to protect the environment. However, global warming fanatics want to reduce everybody (except for themselves) to poverty, spending every penny of everybody else’s money, to see if they can change the climate. If they want to waste their own money trying to change the climate, let them. But don’t waste my money trying.

I think the “liberal” response to a tragedy like this is to make sure people get the aid they need to get back on their feet and become productive citizens again, without doing it at the expense of another struggling group of people.

The hockey stick graph NEVER was a myth, and it isn’t today. You can find it on any reputable site. The level of CO2 is higher now than ever in the history of humans as a species, and it is causing global warming. You are a fool and a tool.

It is pathetic that in a disaster there are people who will blame others for their views on climate change. Come on people think of the people in Oklahoma and do what you can to help.Quit bickering.

The difference between ignorance and stupid is new facts can cause an ignorant person to change their mind, a stupid one can’t. “To Hell with the facts, the world is flat! My preacher’s postman tole me so!”

The good thing about science is that it exists whether people want to accept it or not.

“By the way trees love Co2, they use it to make Oxygen.”

On the other hand, deforestation leaves us with way fewer trees to do this. But if you want to help out, feel free to find a healthy-looking tree and continue to exhale in its vicinity.

not sure but oil is produced by trees and being underground for centuries Not sure but the middle east does not look a place with a lot of trees. so it must be that dino farts caused the air pollution that change the temps there. First buy from china they have more pollution there than any other country . Second the climate has been changing on earth for millions of years back in the last ice age ohio was under ice.

The deniers of Rapid Global Climate Change are at best simply deluded, and incorrect. And at worst, propaganda types for big oil and coal.

Both oil and coal are far too precious a commodity for our civilization, think modern civilization without plastics, fertilizers, or modern medicines.

Do these people actually believe that increasing our air pollution by continuing to burn hydro carbon fuels into our relatively thin and fragile atmosphere is a good thing for now, and even more, at the eventual cost of our future generations abruptly dying as they could not longer even breath the air around them?

Further, do they not realize that there is a very great health care cost to be attributed to such air pollution? Heck, Rapid Global Climate Change is only one part of this very dangerous equation!!!!!

Note to moron “deniers”: The fact they’re drilling for oil under the Arctic proves there were once green plants there, a few million years ago (and millions of years before the Earth existed according to creationists who make up a large segment of the deniers). Tectonic plate movements had more to do with the change than CO2 levels. Today, it IS the CO2, and other HUMAN changes, like massive agricultural clearing of rain forests, destruction of plains grasslands, and other changes to biological as well as “chemical” components in the environment that are causing change.

Humans haven’t moved many continents lately, but they have destroyed a good many of the life forms on them, and are increasing the rate of destruction. (Including increasing storm intensities.)
