I’ve had three comments, all on different forums, mysteriously disappear over the last 48 hours….very innocuous stuff, nothing anyone would flag.

Has anything like that happened to anybody else?

    Just curious.

Why do people wish to honor vets on the day we are to honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice? Veterans’ day is for that. Memorial(or Armistice) day was created to mark the ending of WWI and then morphed into a remembrance day for those who lost their lives fighting in war.

Yes, Thank you to all the vets! I had none in my family, but that was just a coincidence of birth dates.

@Bev, I figured that had to be either Mouse or Pearl (could think of no other) and I was right. Have it paused right now as I’m watching the news with my lime juice.

@Grog, good one – bum steer and Happy – back seat driver but I agree with Susan that we want Ralph to take over ASAP; stunt drivers are a problem on the road.

Good Morning Ballardeers ( or Afternoon in a lot of places ).Happy Memorial DayThe ole Capt.‘n has been experiencing more than his share of 2nd world country internet connection frustrations, so I haven’t been as vociferous as usual but… I’m still around.I’m heading over to the Tiki in awhile for some yak ribs and a cold glass of Samuel Smith’s Organic Cider .( The Tadcaster, England Brewery is famous for their beers and ales but this cider tops the charts ! This isn’t your kid’s lunch box applejuice !! ).Come join me. I’m buyin !

Thanks bev for reminding me of Minnie Pearl! AND HOW FREAKIN’ OLD I AM GETTING! YES, I REMEMBER HER! Grew up watching her on “Hee Haw”, my parents watched that every week, and Lawrence Welk, Ed Sullivan, etc. When did we change from the younger generation to the Old Farts?

Anyone remember the tv show “Portraits in Courage”? I was a big history buff at the time in school, and I used to love that show.

Her driving doesn’t really surprise me. Coming back from New Hampshire a few years ago, we were on an 8 lane highway in Connecticut, 4 VERY BUSY lanes in both directions, and this young woman was in the lane, AND I SWEAR, ON A BIBLE she was talking on her cell phone in one hand, drinking coffee with the other. She had NO hands on the wheel and the traffic was crazy and the other drivers were going at least 75. We were going at that speed in order to keep up with the other drivers. That girl might as well have been driving with her butt too because her head was sure up her A@@!

@Dry, I saw HeeHaw a few times, but during HS the only show I watched without fail was Your Hit Parade – I even smoked the darned Lucky Strikes ;-P I quit smoking when I started college (didn’t fit my image then); my dad quit soon after but mom really struggled. My middle son just sent me a YouTube link to his daughter’s choir doing Le Mis and said he’d send one of her solo. I want to share that when/if I get it. HS choir was fun for me too.

Bev…. no, you don’t need to help me find my comments, thanks…It’s not like mine were that significant either….but one was a thank you to some people and I did have to replace it.

It would get expensive if I had to replace ALL my comments, as I don’t have any comment insurance.I usually figure I don’t need it.

Luckily, the other two I could just let slide…. even though one was the ONLY comment on an otherwise lonely strip..

It’s just annoying, though, if it’s a new site glitch…or scary, if someone is flagging all the stupid things I say.
