Guess a diaper service can never say: “We’re not putting up with this mess”…

The Discovery Channel show “Dirty Jobs” had an episode devoted to a diaper service once. Surprisingly modern and up-to-date. Should have seen their giganto washing machines!

emjaycee—-Funny! I didn’t know that horses could be diapers! OH! You meant to say wear, instead of were.

to be honest I am cheap my kid had cloth diapers except when we went somewhere, it was easier than carrying dirty diapers around. And had a diaper pail and washed them myself

I can’t believe diaper services are still available. They went out of business almost as soon as paper diapers became available. It got too expensive to run them. You had to get the washers and dryers, delivery vans, and the people needed to run the machines. Then you got complaints about the pollution caused by dumping dirty water and detergents down the water supply. Cloth diapers are not really environmentally friendly like paper ones are. What an irony.

@gmforde, having used both with my kids, I would say in terms of pollution it’s six of one, half-a-dozen of the other. Paper wrapped in plastic doesn’t deteriorate all that fast. Then there are the contents, sitting in the landfill…wrapped in paper…wrapped in plastic… At least the water is being treated. I finally went with paper and plastic because I grew tired of arguing with the diaper service as to whether the number they got back equalled the number they gave me. One of us couldn’t count, and we had different opinions as to who that was.
