If they were not voting against Obama care they would have to be solving real problems like fixing the tax code, passing immigration reform, repairing infrastructure, promoting R&D, fixing education, etc. etc.
I would like to add my thanks to your posting your thoughts. As a practicing optometrist, I have been saying the same thing for years.
Obamacare has too many choices: medicare, medicaid, private insurance, state health exchanges, federal health exchange, ERISA plans…..a crazy quilt that is built to do nothing but add a little “catch-22” to the mix. Plus, since Medicare and Medicaid subcontract to insurance companies, it’s all gravy to them. We are forced to give them our money, but they are not forced to provide us with reasonable care.
Single payer is the correct answer. Anyone who says it fails is not looking at two points: 1) our current system is failing on its own, so staying with this one is not an option2) socialized medicine has been used for so many years in so many countries that they have refined its inconsistencies, and we can evaluate each system and learn from their mistakes and the things they got right.
Do not expect anything from Congress except posing. We, the people, will have to demand it. Do we have the guts? Will we make the time? How much does it matter to us?
What’s happening with the Kardashians? Anybody know?
First of all, I am sorry for your wifes difficult end time. I too am for a single payer system, but to say the affordable care act has ZERO choice is just not fair or true. There are facets of all systems which leave us little choice.
Dale Netherton: Yet every country in the over-developed world, except for the US, is quite happy with it. We are 37th and dropping in overall quality of health care, passed by Japan and Singapore in Asia, by Canada and soon by Cuba, Costa Rica, and Venezuela in the Americas. But so much money can be made off the misfortunes of others that the insurance lobby will not permit it here.
this is a true need for people who can’t afford insurance. It is supposed to be Affordable. and has already caused the cost of insurance to be lowered in some cases. A friend who has had to not get medical attention will maybe get some needed help. It’s always easy to kick the poor until you have walked in his shoes.

The halls of congress have turned into an advertising agency for political campaigns featuring bad, funny-looking actors.

Hope is gone for Congress to act on ANYTHING; sad for all of us.

Socialized medicine failed everywhere it was tried. Yet the left thinks ( as always ) they can get away with it.

I thought they were too busy investigating Benghazi and the IRS. Unless those are the smoke screens to try and pass horrible legislation.

Thinking “clockwork”, and “orange”, can’t help but note the Republicans are acting like a troop of orangutans, on crack.

I have but I am willing to bet you have only seen what the right wing has been spreading about it.
