The artists don’t know how to draw a tropical paradise. Having Clovia in Hawaii is just a plot device to explain why she is not there. I’d rather check in on Hoogie.

My wife has learned not to ask “Don’t you think?”

    My reply, “Not often.”

I’d say Slim thinks about as well as a houseplant.

Kinda wishing Slim had stumbled onto a grow house. It’d be a tad out-of-character for the strip, but it’d be interesting.

Is it just me, or is Jim portraying Slim as a few points IQ below the vegetables he doesn’t know how to boil?

Professor/Doctor Herb is quite entertaining and a nice way to spice up a story arc featuring Slim and Clovia. I am very glad that Mr. Scancarelli has added him here. To me, while Slim and Clovia are “ok” characters, they tend IMHO to be a bit flat and not as fun and/or humorous as many of the other GA characters. As most of you know, I like all the characters, but now have a top three favorite…. 1) Joel, 2) Prof. Herb, and 3) Rufus.

That “indeed” is a bit of a stretch. Aristotle was just saying that plants were alive, which they are. If they “feel”, then they also have an animal soul. If they “think”, then they have a rational soul on top of the first two.
