Silly Putty was invented by a scientist who was trying to come up with a substitute for rubber.

After inventing the sliny Richard James said: “That’s one small step for Man!” “That’s one small step for Man!” “That’s one small step for Man!” “That’s one small step for Man!” :)

    I meant (from wikipedia):

Research into developing controlled thermonuclear fusion for civil purposes also began in earnest in the 1950s, and it continues to this day. Two projects, the National Ignition Facility and ITER, are expected to have high gains, that is, producing more energy than required to ignite the reaction, after 60 years of design improvements developed from previous experiments.

Apparently this fusion device has been done many times before but it is not efficient enough to be a source of energy. Google “Conrad farms worth”

Ok, let’s get it straight, that’s NOT a fusion reactor, it’s just a vacuum chamber with high voltage applies to the electrodes. You get the same effect every time you turn on a neon light.

The key to the Conrad Farnsworth item is the omission of the words “successful” or “self-sustaining.” Apparently, he did cause hydrogen fusion, so in the exact way it is worded, we can, indeed, believe it.

Why does Farnsworth have a haircut like somebody from the 20s? And why does he have a maniacal expression? Looks like EVIL is brewing in that throw back head of his!
