I usually try to use acronyms that are words, like Fans Against Nannyball. As I was doing this strip, I decided to go off course and do a word that was recognizable in the sports world but ridiculously not applicable. My thought is that the people who made up the organization let their enthusiasm get ahead of logic. An actual name makes even less sense than a word. I enjoy crazy, even in the people who emerge from my own brain.
I think it is great that one of the authors actually responded in the comments. I wish more would. Obviously there is a lot of tripe not worthy of response, but in many strips I have been impressed and/or amused by the comments.
I have never understood why baseball umpires, unlike officials in other sports, refuse to reverse an erroneous call, prior to restart of play. The hubris of baseball officials really denigrates the integrity of the sport.
Pundit and baseball fan George F. Will always calls umpires the “designated grown-ups” of baseball. But I’ve seen an awful lot of them behave pretty childishly…..

Playoff coverage is always hard because of the two week lag time of syndication. I may try to do something fresh on the Facebook page.

Reality has no function to baseball umpires. What officially happens is what they SAY happens, not what really happens. Being wrong is an illusion.
