In all seriousness, there’s a lot to learn about this if you put aside politics. It was a major security failure. Lives were lost unnecessarily and pleas for help were ignored.

Aside from the fact that Hillary Clinton has accepted blame for this:

“As I have said many times, I take responsibility. And nobody is more committed to getting this right. I am determined to leave the State Department and our country safer, stronger, and more secure. For me, it’s personal.”

But what’s happening now is politicians are using this (which is just one of many embassy attacks which resulted in the deaths of Americans over the past decade) as a way to try to tear down the president. It won’t work, just like it didn’t when the same thing happened in the past administration.

hilliary would make a great president. I hope she runs, but there are fine alternatives in the wings.the GOP’s best hope to win, is too L I B E R A L for the wing nutz, but I would find him acceptable too.maybe Romney should run again, or palin, or mccaine. there’s the ticket.

I don’t know the full range of contextual spin that has beenapplied to Hillary Clinton’s statement . I know there havebeen plenty of people who are totally dismissive of her“What difference does it make " comment.I can only conclude that for these people, partisanshiptrumps reality, and the fact that I voted for Obama makes memore convinced-I consider myself to be too objectiveto be a cheerleader for either side. And yes, the same thing happened on Bush’s watch, andyes, the media did a half a$$ job reporting the reasons forthose failures as well.

Hypocrite Sec’y State Hillary said “I take responsibility” as she began an agenda of LIES about Before, During and After Benghazi was attacked by the local Al Qaeda group Ansar alSharia in Libya.-The breaking news today, Friday 5/10/13 led off by ABC and others, that report that following the Tuesday terror attack, the White House with much input by State did 12 re-writes of CIA intel, as talking points for Ambassador Rice’s planned 5 TV opportunities 9/16/12, to spread the False NARRATIVE (myth) that Libyan people protested a film and 4 Americans died.-Part of the CIA report was that US Intelligence had warned Obama and Hillary many times in the months July-Aug-to the 9/11/12 attacks, and nothing was done to upgrade the security. Hillary sent Amb. Stevens just before the 11th, the Al Qaeda claimed victory of 9/11/01. -Other governments, French, UK, had pulled out of Libya because of the increasing dangers. They did not lose an Ambassador and staff as we did. -Questions not asked at the House hearing 5/8….where was Obama during the 9 hour waves of attacks? Who gave the 2 “stand downs” to Special Ops teams ready to fly from Tripoli to Benghazi? -There need to be more hearings.

There is an entire section at Arlington bearing testimony to the wisdom of Cheney/Rumsfeld/Feith/Wolfowittz, and Rices lies that “W” chanted: No, not blaming Bush, other than the fact he held the reins while his chickenhwawks drove the nation off the tracks in Iraq, and thus blew it in Afghanistan as well.

Is the U.S. really going to wallow in the irrelevant for months on end, wasting millions in time and money while the nation is beset with some really serious problems? And it will have been proven that people get killed being in dangerous places.

And the fact is, his death was sad but exploiting it for political gain is tragic. Shame on the GOP and shame on their disloyal allies in the media.

@David and @wmconelly:GW Bush was ProMilitary, GW Bush ordered a response to Terrorist attacks against Americans, and OK’d spending for US sites with strong security for our people. GW let the Military plan their strategy for Victory over terrorists.-You two posters are dead set against military defense against terrorists. “Reign of terror” by Bush??? You have fulfilled Bible prophecy: men will call “evil” as “good” and become haters of God and haters of the godly.-Obama and his wife, Wm.Clinton and Hillary, all entered the White House with a reputation for Hating the US Military.Obama and Hillary chose NATO to oust the Libyan dictator, then chose to send Ambassador Steven to the worst insecure spot in Libya at Benghazi, just in time for the anniversary of 9/11/01. When the inevitable occurred, and Ansar alSharia the local Libyan Al Qaeda attacked, and it was known by the administration who attacked that very night, Obama and Hillary and their puppets began a Lie Campaign to cover their incompetence that provided terrorists the opportunity to kill 4 Americans deliberately left unprotected by Hillary and Obama.-that is the difference between godly defense by Bush and the ObamaHillary’s ungodly politicizing Ambassador Steven’s and 3 ex-military heroes deaths that their evil policies caused.

dt: GHW Bush issued orders to the VA to turn down every veteran applying for benefits three times and force them to go to the court of appeals. This was to “show respect for the military”???? Bill Clinton’s first order to the VA was to process claims as quickly as possible, if proven fraudulent- turn them down, if there was ANY proof of disability, the veteran was to get at least SOME decision within 90 day, and benefits!

When “W” came in, his first order was to reinstate his daddy’s “screw the vets” policy. That was one reason why there is such a backlog, still, in VA, with all the added cases from Iraq, Afghanistan, and all those “old soldiers” from Viet Nam now aging and seeking benefits for the first time.

BTW, irritating as it is there ARE some “fakers” out there who seek only the money, not treatment for their disabilities, and they DO slow down the process with VA. But it is the MILITARY that is most determined to keep down the cost of Afghanistan and Iraq by denying people’s claims before VA even gets the case. This involves falsifying records, or ignoring confirmed data in the files the military has.

Which is why we need to honor the service of all our “government folks” at home and abroad who serve this nation with honor. That seems the opposite, every “dang” day on the part of righties such as Issa, dt, Ima, zit, clown, and all our other “anti-government” folks here who only scream to “defend” one of those folks if they can use it as an excuse to attack President Obama.

    Disgusting hypocrisy.

^the old mess was of such a gargantuan size and scope, we’ll be cleaning it up for decades to come. That’s what happens when the ‘courts’ pick a president.
