Perhaps writing it as “Besides, in SC the best…” would get your point across. I don’t agree with it but it would make your intent clearer.
The simple fact is the right-wing bent of the populace there has a lot more influence than any ethics or “moral issues”. It’s just funny watching this go on in the “bible belt” of “conservative ethics”.
