As much as I’m enjoying this story, I have to say,Good grief, Mysta, what are you thinking?!?

Ok, this is starting not to make sense…..if she is planning on going “home” to the moon, then why should she care? And why WOULD she want to leave her daughter anyways? Of course, we all know she’s not going anyways after she gets the news it’s deserted…..not to mention it blows up any plans to steal the space coupe……hmmmm, maybe Mike realized he was indeed in a no win situation here as everyone seemed to want Moon Maid back….and decided the best way out was by making her a b____ (care to buy a voeel?) so we’d all be happy to see her leave, ha ha….

….oops…..“vowel”……

Hmmmmm, when you stop and think about it, the mighty Dick Tracy strip has gone from battling murderous supervillians like Flattop and Pruneface, to a catfight, lol. (but it’s all fun and I’m enjoying it….)

Clone-Moon Maid has a few gene sequences misaligned, it seems. Our sympathy is turned to Sparkle, whose wedding ring is prominently displayed just below the threats of “Mysta Tracy” in panel 3. The clone may just deteriorate terminally….

I have wished for the return of Moon Maid for so many years. (Actually, never thought it would happen, but I have always enjoyed my reprints of her from my collection). I will be so disappointed if Mysta turns bad. She had a good heart, and was a devoted wife and mother. I hope Dr. Sail is brainwashing her, or there is some explanation for her actions in today’s strip.

Tsk Tsk.

When we first met Stellaluna and Retik, they were depicted as being Mysta’s “handlers” so to speak. How will Sail and Ghote feel when they learn about this? They wanted to keep this whole thing from the Tracy family. How did Mysta get to her appointment with Sparkle, anyway. Other times, Stellaluna or Retik had to drive her to where she wanted to go. They wouldn’t just sit back and let this happen, would they?

Well, fredville, from the beginning, I was secretly afraid of this happening – that perhaps Mike and Joe were bringing her back – to be a villain! The other day, I was being facetious when I suggested that perhaps Mike and Joe were creating a storyline in which we would want Mysta to leave.

The scary part is, at this moment, unless something really different happens, sooner better than later, Mike and Joe will end up with only two possible scenarios: New, but really weird villain, or to have her die a second death!

And I don’t think most fans would settle for either!

I know I won’t!

Prescription: Get Ignatz from Gasoline Alley to throw a brick at her and maybe knock some sense back into her!

Last, and certainly least: I’m still waiting for Mumbles to show up! Maybe Mysta will turn up at EJ’s!

Well, when Moon Maid was first introduced, she was always impetuous and strong willed. The events here still fit within the parameters of her personality as we knew it. But I agree, her integrity is taking a heavy beating with the events of the past few days. Is it possible her return to the moon is just a visit, and she plans to resettle herself on Earth with her family (Junior and Honeymoon)?

Other thoughts: If this is the “real” Mysta (and we can’t rule that out, either), there are many possible sources for her present behavior – the blast, itself, perhaps a long amnesia after the blast, what may have been imprisonment by Sail and Ghote, to whatever they did to her as they “re-created” her.

The problem is, now she needs an insanity defense for what she has done.

On second thought, my ex-wife was crazy, and she ended up getting everything!

Perhaps Mysta is making all the right moves, after all!

Seriously, though, I am still waiting for an exploration of the plight of those who are wrongfully declared dead.

Perhaps this is a fairly clutzy way of bringing the topic to the forefront!

i TRIED to comment earlier this morning but my computer at home is slower than a jar of molasses in a tar factory.. so here goes…

willy and ray and APOI, i concede that today the gocomics colorist did INDEED color moon maid’s gloves incorrectly. and SDMPHAV09, to **ME**at least, sparkle’s hair was incorrectly colored in the FIRST panel, not the last.

as for moon maid lite needing an insanity plea, maybe MR KLEEN will get her off the charges! lol! :)

as for moon maid lite’s immediate future, i dont see junior taking too kindly to her assaulting his current wife… maybe *THIS** will bring him and sparkle closer together, seeing as how moon maid lite could have killed sparkle if she wanted to.

things are gonna be heating up in the MCU/MCS Squad Room real soon! i also think we MAY see another cameo by pouch shortly.

oh, and a little bit of fun here… I am hereby predicting a return to th epages of Dick Tracy the not-so-late but STILL great Measles! Why?!?

Well, let’s see… this morning on the tv news in NYC there was a story of a “measles outbreak” in the city, and then when i was in the supermarket a little while later, as i was leaving… one of those 50 cent vending machines/bubble gum machines had a picture of a guy on it who looked REMARKABLY like the not-so-late but STILL great mr. enog!

So yeh… based on THAT.. i am saying measles should make a return! lol!

Heck, it wouldnt be THAT much of a stretch… the meds measles supposedly od’d on could have just put him into a medically induced coma and when tracy checked for a pulse, he didnt find one. (did tracy check? i dont remember now.. .plus did he ever remove his gloves while checking?)

That, nad th efact we know that Stiletta has a penchant for running around in stolen ambulances, so maybe her, Hugo and Franz responded to the call and picked up measles instead of a real ambulance/first aid team.

and for all of those who NEED this to be spelled out… I AM JUST KIDDING ABOUT THE MEASLES THING (but it COULD happen! lol)

This current story will not be the end of Moon Maid. Mike made a post on the Dick Tracy Yahoo Group that listed a number of SPOILERS and asked that it not be posted on GoComics. It can be found in March’s posts if anyone wants to look for it. I will not post it here.

Wow I’m enjoying this story arc.

The guy doing the writing here is really good, he’s writing a 3 dimensional character into a 2D comic. (probably wasted effort from some of the comments here)

As for Mysta’s actions, what the heck did you expect? I can tell you as a woman, if I were in Mysta’s place I’d have been very hard pressed not to have used “full powers” myself. She didn’t, that’s a good clue she is not a bad guy. She’s just pissed as hell at her one time best friend stealing her husband and her child. Stop with the Saint Moon Maid junk. Think of her as a person, a person deeply in love with her husband and alone on a strange world she feels has turned against her.

So now we have juveniles who like to take up space with dross

@ S.J.B. What a strange statement to make on a message board. I have followed this comic strip all of my life. I GIVE A CRAP! Obviously you do too or you wouldn’t be wasting your precious time making insulting statements.

Mike hasn’t posted here since October 8th, 2012. He says that he can’t access his account here. Relax, you’re going to have a stroke.

Sparkle has the very feminine drawn hands. Yet Mysta doesn’t even have fingernails; what’s up with that? It is soooo hard to draw nice hands, and to put personality into them is even harder.

Over the last 6 or 7 weeks, Gasoline Alley has been featuring characters from various classic comics in a story that took place at the old comics retirement home, so that’s the reference to Ignaz being in Gaslight Alley.

Sorry, that should say Gasoline Alley. I need to proofread better for auto-corrections.

willy a lot of your comments make sense, but as of this very moment, NOBODY except mike, joe and the rest of team tracy have any CLUE as to who/what this “moon maid lite” truly is. THEYRE the only ones who know if she is a clone, the real deal, or perhaps an altered moon person. everything else is just speculation.

except of course for the return of measles… THAT’S dead on truth! lol :)

Willy007 and Rista: I, too, hope that Mike and Joe have more in mind for Mysta than simply another villain, perhaps heading toward a second death – though, I admit, my posts may not show it.

And while it’s good to point out just how “foreign” she is, not just another country, continent, but perhaps another galaxy, nevertheless, I am concerned about “decorum” (for lack of a better word).

While she may not be a “Saint Mysta,” I still find it incredible that she would think this action of hers might “win” her back her husband and child.

I have been hoping for a “soft landing,” if not for the story, at least certain incendiary aspects of it. When it first became apparent that Moon Maid was coming back, with the Montana Joe cameos, I thought that perhaps Sparkle was going to “fade away.” Not an ideal situation, but given the intense prejudice against a man having two wives, it did look like a possible “out” for Team Tracy.

For now, it doesn’t look like they’re taking that route.

Another “soft landing” I had hoped for is that, if this is the “real” Mysta, which it still very much may be, and especially with her irrational (to me, at least) desire to return to the moon, that perhaps she was going to do a version of that Dianne Keaton and Susan Sarrandon scene in Big Wedding. But, as we all know, there are a multitude of things working against that as a reality; I was just hoping that this could have been Mysta’s intent.

Apparently, Mike and Joe aren’t going to give us the possibility of a “soft landing” on any front!

In the end, I was hoping that the focus was going to be on the things that have happened to Mysta, as opposed to things she has done. She already has a tsunami of stuff she’s going to have to slog through, crooked doctors, forced participation in yet another Ghote scam, and the final realization that she can’t leave this earth, after all!

(I really thought that would have been a “perfect foil” for a “graceful” farewell to her friends and family on earth – just to have that snatched away from her at the last minute! If I were writing the story, that is the direction I would have taken it! Oh, the drama of finding out that there is no easy way out!)

Mysta’s world is screwed up enough as it is, without a childish stunt like she has now done. I wasn’t hoping for a “Saint Mysta”; rather, I was hoping that, among all the things that are already screwed up for her, that she wouldn’t be screwing things up herself, as well!

Don’t know if this makes any sense at all. But, it is what it is.

Hey! Maybe she’s not a clone or an explosion survivor or another moon person/human altered and brainwashed…maybe…just maybe…she’s actually Mysta from an alternate Universe!!

……..sure nice to know Moon Maid will be in future stories…….sure nice to know she won’t be killed…….hopefully we can know in advance what happens to everyone…..wouldn’t want to ruin the strip with a little suspense or excitement or anything like that……..

of course, we wouldn’t have had that problem with C. G………he was known for making up the story as he went along; writing himself into corners to experience it himself; his never quite knowing where he’d end up….boy, did it work!

I read in this story some weeks back when Sparkleasked Junior what was to become of their marriage.I think the answer has come, only not from Junior butfrom the Moon Maid. Man, the suspense is riveting!

Just was curious how Honeymoon will fit into all of this? Could there be some sort of confrontation there?
