Think back on Netanyahu and his little “bomb” representing the “red line” theorem. BTW, it WAS dumb for Obama to say chemicals would be a “red line” issue, instead of at least saying massive use thereof. BTW, chemical agents are far more limited in damage potential than even a C-130 with a Vulcan cannon. Also, GB sarin, or VX, are far less “brutal” than conventional weapons like white phosphorus (a “chemical weapon”), or cluster bombs. Even the Boston IED was more cruel and brutal than the few seconds it takes nerve agents to kill.

P.S., Gitmo should never have been built, and definitely should have been closed in Obama’s first days in office, but the “righties” would have screamed bloody murder, as they already had at the mere suggestion of trying these criminals we picked up in our courts.

Obama signed the directive as his very first act as President. I don’t get why it didn’t close.(See, I am not always on his side.)

Any ultimatum is stupid. Having said that, I’m glad Obama’s taking a slower approach now. Our rushing in almost always ends up creating more problems in the long run.

We also have to be careful about those rebels. The UN is reporting possible use of chemical weapons by rebels, too. If proven true, then whom do we trust?

As a well known tree hugger, my position on the prisoner of war base at Guantanamo is well known and I’ve posted on the topic again under another artist. I will just address Clark Kent’s over the left edge of the table comment since it’s the second time I’ve seen it today.^One day, the USA and Cuba will normalize relations. At that time, Guantanamo can go from being a military base, to a place where travelers going to and from Cuba/USA can go through security and even stay, after the mine field is removed. The prison at GITMO needs to be closed. The PORT of Guantanamo, needs to be opened for travel and tourists. Cubans would love to see Americans come and visit. It’s only the Cubans in Florida who want this perpetual war footing between our countries. No Peace till they get what Castro took from them. That only works if we’re willing to give back to the Cherokee and other native tribes what we took from them. The past is in the past. Learn from it and move forward.Respectfully,C.I hear they have beautiful trees in Cuba.mmmmmmmtreeeeeeesssssssss

I received your sarcasm, even if no one else did. Good job.

A federal prosecutor once told me that if you are accused of a federal crime, the courts automatically assume you are guilty unless you can absolutely prove otherwise. And that is only one problem with going into a federal court.

Keeping Guantanamo open is absolutely essential! After all, Obama wants it closed.-It really doesn’t matter if we close it or not. The important and essential thing is that keeping it open is a defeat for Obama. -Doesn’t matter whether it’s good for the country, bad for the country, or a non-factor. As long as it’s a defeat for Obama, that’s what has to be done.-Just like that pesky gun control issue — doesn’t matter whether or how we control guns, just so long as it’s a defeat for Obama.

that is so true, brain, that is why Nothing has gotten done. It’s this obstructionist congress. I never thought politics would be more important than the debt, the people and the good of the country. People are believing flat out lies and voting against their own best interests.

“Chicago’s Strict Gun Control Laws did not prevent a Young Teen Girl from being killed by a gun one mile from Obama’s Chicago Home. Please let us know how a young teen can be killed by a gun in a city with one of the strictest gun laws of any city in the nation?”-You obviously know the answer to your question. Areas within easy driving distance of Chicago have no such strict gun laws, so anyone can buy guns and bring them into Chicago. -It’s a little bit analogous to the bad old days when, if you asked to be seated in a no smoking section, some restaurants would put you in the middle of smokers and put a no smoking sign on your table.
