The neighbors have learn to live with Harold’s surround (the neighborhood) sound system.

But then Harold’s been a train wreck for years.Sorry, someone had to say it

I’d be at the Tiki by now, if only the bridge weren’t out.

    Fenton…. pretty please… I think I’m gonna need a banana daiquiri soon.

    Mmmmm… just what I needed.

I usually like my drinks on the strong or bitter side…. of course, a neat, single malt usually fills the bill….I also like a dark ale, a stout….even take my coffee black and my tea without sugar.

But sometimes you just need a big, sweet, soothing, banana concoction.Drink, dessert and breakfast, all in a glass.

    And now it’s very late….

Fenton, I brought in and put away all the groceries, except for the 72 pounds of bananas in Elvis’s back seat.

Since you won’t be here tomorrow night, and the little guys can’t do it, could you be a dear and help me bring those in?

    I know, I know…but they’re cute.OK, humans think they’re cute.People like getting drinks from tiny monkeys.No I can’t explain it…but I’ve seen you work with them…you think they’re cute, too….don’t you…. Admit it or I’ll scratch behind your ears….You’ll say anything then!

    Don’t growl….LOL

    Susan,

Allow me to give you and Fenton a hand with those bananas. It’s not often that we’re at the Tiki together.

Then, Fenton, would you bring me a cuppa? No thanks, it’s a tad too early in the day to adulterate it. Black will be fine.

    Note to Monkey:

Bought groceries,,, I see there's lots of ground yak, so unless you have another plan, I'll come in to make yak loaf later.

We can run the special platter....

Just please try not to eat ALL the bananas first. :)

That was so nice of you….

And yes, I’m rarely here at this time… I’m up well past my already late bed time…so apparently, we’re on opposite sides of the clock…and I would guess, the world.:)

Love the train photos (and the fact that George and Digger have the headphones in the original). I’ve only had some lemon (squeezed a 1/2 in ice water, but with 5 drops of Stevia).

Got to go up to kitchen and cook some quinoa pasta and stir in some TVP and 2 big spoons of my red sauce. Out of both spinach and string beans now, so time for groceries.

When I make coffee (very seldom + none this year) I use 1T of Bustelo (expresso) for each 1/4C of water, but I do add sweetner (and some brandy).

some days I just can’t get on the other side of how strange these cartoons are…I have driven down country roads doing 65mph looking at the road through binoculars, I went swimming in the ocean alone on a deserted beach in Mexico, I peed on a white scorpion once just for fun…but running the tracks out the window….that’s a stretch ….I don’t care how crazy you are, that’s out there….

Day after day and into the night, the relentless cries of a madman and his pleadings sounded through the neighborhood. It started the day after Shirley went to visit her sisters in Toledo. From the black recesses of the guest bedroom came murmurings. Almost inaudible, almost fiendish; something that sounded like, “OK OK but get on board”. Day after day, louder and louder the wailing continued. Screams of “stop that”, “I told you”, “faster faster” and final raving, “Oh No” put everyone over the top. Rusty Boy wonders why Stan can’t while away his time like everyone else. George doesn’t care one way or the other, he’s just glad Stan stays at home.

    I got locked out!

I’m not sure what time the doors swung open…but when I got up (late, yes,) and a few times since, GoComics wouldn’t let me log in, so I couldn’t post.

I thought I had a key but they said I brought the wrong one.

Just tried again and had no problem.I have GOT to get a new duplicate key.

I want one between the salon and the Tiki, which of course would also serve my pie shop….But I wouldn’t want to make Elvis jealous.Of course, he’s the one who takes me to my tomato factory and out to XTI…. so he should be OK with it

Brian…. I say that all the time. But my mother not only said it, I think she believed it.

She and Dad drank black coffee…. but if anyone else came over, she’d put out milk and sugar.

But when a guest reached for them, she’d say,“Oh, did I make it too strong?”or “Gee, I hope it’s not too bitter.”

Bev… I just did an image search on the Veteran’s avatar..

It was apparently drawn by Jean Giraud, a French comics artist who used the pseudonym Moebius.

(Like so many things I don’t recognise, he is someone with whom I feel I should be more familiar, somehow…. but I’m not.)

The picture is called Moebius, but I can’t find a reference to whether it’s a fanciful self-portrait.Maybe the Vet knows.

    Hi Shika….

You don’t have to get the giant platter… it just happens to be a great deal.

But all the food at the Tiki is very reasonable… especially the yak…You can get a rib platter, a hot or cold sliced yak sandwich, a yak loaf sandwich,

The Dibs on Ribs lunch plate comes with a slightly smaller rib (they’re all big), yak noodle soup, cole slaw and pie! It’s shown with coffee, but you can have mineral water….or even Monkey Cola.

And I have seen Heavy Metal, though not for a long time, so I’ve probably seen his work.

    Thanks.

Bev… you mean the regular Yak "n’ Dak (not pictured) or the YakLoaf ‘n’ Dak I just made?

It’s yummy, unless you prefer a rib.

There’s all sorts of pie,. now that I have a pie shop next door….

(I think the Monkey had an ulterior motive.)

The one I posted for Shika that comes with pie is the smaller lunch, with soup instead of our special beans…and no daiquiri… though of course you can have one!

    It’s not confusing, is it?

yes, Bev… The “original” picture apparently uploaded by the Vet is still quite small, so I used Google “Search by Image” to find a bigger one, and more info.

Looks like the character is at least based on someone like Cleese.

I watched Princess Bride today on Logo. The gay channel has lots of fun stuff too. I’d never seen that- so sappy yet sweet too! Was up to 103 while I was bird watching at the hawk nest and I took a 40 min soak in the pool (about 72-75F) while drinking a big goblet of ice water. I’ll still bathe to remove clorine before bed, but now very comfortable without AC. I turned it on for 1 HR last night because upstairs is warmer.
