Leftists have short memories. Only one Democrat senator voted against the Patriot Act, and President Obama’s reauthorization – of essentially the same bill – flew through without leftist opposition.
Thank goodness leftists have engaged the war on terrorism. Instead of waterboarding the bad guys, and mining information to break the networks, now we just loft an occasional drone and let the plotters continue in anonymity. In 2008 al Qaeda was essentially dead, destroyed, but has since rebuilt itself unmolested.

He’s probably referring to the original vote. It passed the Senate 99-1 in 2002. Only Russ Feingold voted against it.
