Written in the blood of the people (who by the way, favor the reforms).

If one were to believe the polls, the American people are more concerned with jobs and the economy and put it way ahead of gun control. Aside from all else, this is about the 4th cartoon I’ve seen on these pages that use senators as “ammo.” They’ll try again, probably after they’re done with arguing about Syria, Benghazi 3, Iran 16 and probably come up with another indecipherable piece of legislation. After just trying to wade through and understand the 45 page Toomey – Manchin bill, I can understand why congress people leave it up to their staffs to decipher. Congress seems to think it’s unnecessary for “real people” to be able to read and understand their legislation. I’m an accountant, been reading tax law for decades and the crap they put out from congress is insanely complex, even for a supposedly “simple” bill as this one was touted to be.

It’s #9 out of 16 and support is waning rapidly. Americans have short attention spans and are more concerned about pocket book issues.

Who started warrantless wiretaps? Unlimited detentions? Renditions? the PATRIOT Act? Seems to me the GOP has been working hard to restrict our freedoms.

And here in Virginia, the R’s passed a constitutional amendment removing the rights of gay people who are legally married….until they come to Virginia. This, to my knowledge, is the first time any constitution has been modified to REDUCE Americans’ rights.

I am not saying democrats are blameless. They are pretty much all follow-the-money prostitutes. But the Dems are much more disorganized, so their damage is less severe. Republicans march in lockstep, so they can do more damage with less legislation.
